| Sugar Mom, may I ask why you want to breed her?

| I am sooo HAPPY that Silk is doing better! That is great news! Try not to be discouraged that she doesn't fetch. It's probably not something that she's ever done before. I bet SHE will teach YOU how she wants to play if you'll let her! It doesn't have to be fetch. I agree with the vet - as long as she is peeing, she must be getting some liquid. If you're worried, you could mix water with her food, so that she gets a little extra that way.

| I'm glad that you decided to keep her. I'm sure in a short time she will be a member of the family and you will wonder what you were thinking when you decided to sell her. As far as breeding her goes (I'm not a breeder so this is just an opinion) it seems to me that the woman who you got her from had probably decided to stop breeding her and rehome her for a reason. You could probably get a litter from her but maybe there were problems with her previous litters that the previous owner chose not to tell you about.

| I am very glad for you and for Silk that you decided to keep her. She is now getting used to you and your family and she will just get better and better. That said, don't be surprised or disappointed if she sometimes acts a little standoffish or shy. She is still getting used to you. It does take a while for some. Some dogs are friendly with everyone (My daughter's Ginger, for example never saw a stranger!) and some are not. (We had one that would run and hide whenever a stranger came. Or even if some of the family came that hadn't been here for a while. She is now in her forever home and is playing with the kids, the dogs and loves everybody!) Each puppy or dog is a different personality, and should be treated that way. Like someone said about some other kind of training it takes PATIENCE. |

| Great news, Yes they definately know when their owners are stressed and aggitated, so the more you stressed and worried about how she acted, the more it stressed her. I'm glad things are moving in the right direction, Things will improve everyday I'm sure of it, just by how she has come around in the last 2. That makes me happy.

| Congratulations on your triumph with pretty Silk!! I am so glad you listened to everyone, although I know it made you upset at the time. Keep us up to date on her progress, if you please, as I am very interested.

| When I place an adult, I insist before the placement that the new owner will devote two weeks to an adjustment period. I have never had a Yorkie not adjust in two weeks..most are fine in one week, many in one day. Please give her time to warm up to you...letting her go to yet another strange home would mess this Yorkie up so much..and the number of people who want to keep breeding her is so sad. |

| I'm happy Silk has started coming around! Adjustments can be difficult and Yorkies are so sensitive! Some more than others. When we went on vacation last year and left Pippa in my sister's care, she didn't eat for 2 days and moped around like someone died. She missed us so much. (Don't worry-she survived on Nutrical. :-) ) I think you will see improvement everyday. Some people have given wise advice in that dogs can sense your emotions/mood and maybe you were trying TOO hard! Try to relax and let things happen. Don't force her into lovin's or playing, just let it come naturally and give positive reinforcement when it happens. Good luck, and keep us updated!
