| Desperate for advice Awhile ago I posted about Scooter waking me up at night with loud noises that he makes. I tried all suggestions, ear plugs, white sound and I even looked into a system called sleep phones. It is getting much worse with Scooter and sleeping. Last night I was lucky to have received 3 hours sleep because of the loud noises he makes. I talked to his vet but he had no solution. No one can understand how very loud he is unless you hear it. I'm tired all day and this cannot go on much longer. I love Scooter but I'm at my wit's end. Surely someone has experienced this and has advice.

| Has your Vet checked out this pups sinuses. I know Teasell has noise issues in the winter when the heat is on. I am sure your pup is uncomfortable also. I wonder if a saline solution to the nose might help his breathing and lessening the noises he is making...Teasell's mom |

| Does the vet have any explanation for the loud sounds (or is he just a loud snorer...)? If it's possibly something medical, that can be treated, I might ask for a referral to a specialist for further investigation. If that’s not an option, it sounds like you'll have to start working on getting him to sleep in another room. This will probably take some time & sleepless nights on your end, but may be your only solution. Best of luck! |

| He does have problems with his trachea and the vet thinks its related to the noises. He gave me an antihistamine with prednisolone. He thinks Scooter may be reacting to all the pollen in the air (we live in Florida and the pollen is a real problem) so the antihistamine and the prednisolone to reduce any swelling or inflammation to his trachea. If that doesn't work we'll try something else. I had a Shi Tzu who snored but this goes way beyond snoring. Its a compilation of every sound a dog can make....except growling. I did think of putting him in another room but that would be the very last resort because his sis Bitsy would be with me and he would be isolated from us. We'll try the medicine tonight and pray that it works. Thanks all for your concern I'll keep you posted.

| Well I've given Scooter the Temaril P for several nights and so far it's worked. Yay! He snorts and sings a little bit but not so loudly that I can't sleep.
