| elvis lives this was on a website I recently visited does this terminology disturb anyone? We are currently breeding two lines of yorkshire terriers. Our Toy line is being breed to produce show quality dogs between 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 lbs. and to provide breeding females for our teacup line. Our teacup line produces high quality dogs 41/2 lbs. and under the reason elvis lives is part of the name of the website

| this is a most interesting statement as well There seems to be a conflict between the original intent of the breed and show breeders. In the show ring it is very difficult for a small dog to compete against a larger dog. This is why show breeders prefer a 5 – 7 lb. dog to show. An individual who wants a Yorkshire terrier for a lap dog is many times going to prefer a 3 lb. yorkie over a 7 lb. yorkie. Show breeders breed to show and winning is their major concern. Many other breeders breed for the original intent of the breed and customer satisfaction is their major concern. Elvis is in the house

| well I see you all found Elvis's house here is another few statements I took out of sections The AKC standard has changed over the course of its history. It was last revised April 12, 1966 and we feel that it’s the breeders that Breed for improvement based upon the AKC standard and public preference will continue to put pressure on AKC to periodically revise the AKC standard. Many show breeders rely on the income they receive on the sale of puppies to support the expense of showing their dogs. When show breeders can’t support the cost of showing thru the sale of their puppies you will see the AKC standard revised. Without this balance between qualified show breeders and qualified yorkie breeders you would never see changes in the AKC standard. You would still see 15- 20 lbs. Yorkshire terriers. Be cautious of breeders that only will sell puppies on a spray and neuter contract or on a contract that is so restrictive. These are typically people who want to control without considering the customers needs and could be very difficult to work with. PS: SHE copied my contract she could have changed a word or two at least then call it her own!

| Oh they not only have quality...they have high quality. i didnt know there was a difference. I'm not downing their site..just some of the things they say! They have a couple nice yorkies...The over all statements on the site steer me away from it. I'm gonna be honest. But I don't think they are bad people and some may have happy pups from them! Elvis Elvis let me be....Keep that Pelvis far from me! |
