| Thinking about adopying a rescue Hi everyone! I'm a newbie! I have a 9 month old female. I am retired and spend a lot of time with my furbaby. We are very attached. I was thinking about adopting a rescue yorkie, but I have concerns that they won't get along though. I just don't want to hurt my 9 month old in any way but I just can't seem to stop thinking about adopting. My yorkie is very friendly and loves everybody. What do you all think? Thank you for your time. |

| I think you have an ideal set-up for adding another pup to the party; everyone will adjust in time and how wonderful of you to rescue. Try to keep it to just one or two adoptees at a time, though!! I'm thinking your home will be full of crazy canine fun. |

| Welcome to YT. First, is your baby dog friendly, have you socialized her with other dogs, does she like dogs and is she friendly with them. If that question is YES Your baby at 9 months old is A BABY. A rescue of 2 or even 3 years old would be perfect for your girl. Some members have adopted / rescued yorkies younger then 2 yo. If you do find one I suggest before bringing home a rescue have a meet and greet not at your home and not at the rescue center, away from the rescue place, see how the rescue is with your puppy. Your baby will accept who ever you bring home because she is still a puppy, you have to be more concerned with a rescue dog, make sure the rescue is dog friendly. Your girl at 9 months old will still pounce in the face of another dog when playing, you want to make sure the rescue will tolerate the pouncing. The younger the rescue is the better. Please keep us up dated.
