| Man, I wish!!! She will absolutely refuse even her most ultra-favorite chicken jerky--refusing to even look. She can be one determined cookie, Piper can! I, however, would looove a nice steak--heck, a hamburger would get me to behave! |

| Haha! That is amazing. Piper is too funny. Hopefully Beowulf would break his concentration for a treat.

YT 2000 Club Member | I have two very good walkers. They both trained to the leash without a problem. And then there is Jasmine.....my hunter. She is right at 5 lbs but thinks she weighs in at 150. She is a born hunter and is the most stubborn little mushy face that I have ever come across. I remember when we first started leash training her when she was a pup. The minute the leash would hook to her harness that was her cue for her butt to hit the ground. She is 6 now and when the mood hits her....."butt syndrome" still kicks in. After a few weeks of her "butt syndrome" she did progress to walking, but only where SHE wanted to go. It was uncanny how this very tiny dog could pull us to where ever she wanted to go. We, of course, tried all the things we did with the other two when we leashed trained them....you know, a gentle jerk to the leash, a treat, saying no, pleading, crying, bargaining, jumping up and down, stomping off in frustration..........well, I probably didn't do all of that. But, sometimes to this day if Jasmine does not want to walk, or walk where we want her to she just won't. So, we put her in a stroller and off we go.

I have 2 boys who think they are in charge of our walks. When Cody tries to direct things, keep your feet and body facing the direction you want to go. Stand still and wait until he gives up trying to pull in a different direction. Then say "Let's go" and move in the direction you want. You can also try short intervals of zigzag patterns that force him to follow you. People around you will think you are nuts, but it helps with dogs who pull. Things do get easier with age and use of keywords. When my boys sniff and mark too much in one spot, I happily say, "That's enough. Let's go." When my boys seem to really not be paying attention to me, I will tease them a bit and say, "Stay right here. I'll be back." That gets their attention and they hustle along to follow me. They are on leash the whole time, but it is funny to watch them scramble to stay close to me. Then I say, "Oh, you are going to come?"

| I have a good time with him. He keeps me smiling. Cody is a joy to be around even if he's being a stinker. Lol |
