Yorkie Talker | Yorkie or Yorkie Poodle Mix? We recently adopted a little guy, his name is Boo Bear. He was adopted from someone who couldn't keep him, they said they saw the parents and that he is purebred, they even sent me a picture of the so-called parents, but he seems to have a slight wave to his coat, it's very thick, and he's got more black than brown or gold in him. Do you think he's purebred or poodle mix? The picture of the two yorkies are supposedly the parents, what do you think? |

| Oh my, what a cute little lamb chop Boo Bear is....love the name! I don't know from purebreds and all that, but he surely looks like he has a lot of Yorkie in him. He is totally, 100% adorable, that's for sure! |

Yorkie Talker | Thanks! We adore him, he has a calm and sweet disposition. He looked like a fluffy little teddy bear when we got him, and out of a few others we had seen, we really liked the way he looked even though his parents were not on site. I just always wanted a purebred Yorkie, hoping he is, but we love him just the same if he's a mix. |

| He is still a baby, right? They change sooo much in the first year or two. Don't make judgments yet. Cut as a button in any event!

| a wave in the coat and a darker coat is not unusual for puppy-hood. How old is he? |

| He looks very young and in the early stage have soft, stand up hair that changes radically as they grow. The parents look very light colored so he may be a blondy. He is a cute as a puppy can be. Enjoy him and keep us posted. |

| Looks all Yorkie. Some have curly coats, it's not shoe quality but still cute. ...but it still has puppy hair, so too early to say what type of hair it'll end up with. Cute pup.

| I've had yorkies with curly/wavy hair. My girl now has a bit of waves if I let it grow long enough, but the hair on her head is straight as a board lol

| Like someone said above, it is very possible that your baby is purebred, just not standard. I have a black/gold thick soft coated kinky haired boy. (Soft coated is often referred to as cotton coat by owners) He's not the standard, but still my purebred baby. At almost 8 years he is almost, ALMOST done changing into his adult colors.

Yorkie Talker | Thanks for the comment, he was 12 weeks when these pics were taken...I know it's normal to have the darker fur, just wasn't sure about the wave and the mixture of black on his paws. |
