Like someone said above, it is very possible that your baby is purebred, just not standard. I have a black/gold thick soft coated kinky haired boy. (Soft coated is often referred to as cotton coat by owners) He's not the standard, but still my purebred baby. At almost 8 years he is almost, ALMOST done changing into his adult colors.
