| East Coast Yorkies Hello everyone, I am looking for your advise as to this breeder. I'm looking to purchase my second yorkie but have heard terrible stories about sick yorkies being sold. I came across this website but the breeder sell her puppies without the AKC papers is this common? I can't seem to find the persons name either. |

| Hi and welcome! Be extremely careful when looking a new Yorkie, esp. On the East Coast. When I got Presley I looked and talked to many breeders from Maryland to Florida. Most I was not comfortable with, they would be quick to say tea cup, raised in an out building etc. I accidentally stumbled onto my breeder and so glad I did, she is wonderful, very up on her dogs, health testing, contracts etc. Be willing to travel to get your baby from a trustworthy breeder.

| Some breeders will offer puppies without AKC registration because it is less expensive for both seller and buyer. It is rare for good breeders to do this, and I would avoid it. Can you confirm that the parents are AKC registered, other than the breeder's word? I would not consider buying from a breeder if I could not find any information about the person. Does the person test the breeding dogs for genetic disorders? What kind of health guarantee is offered? As Cindy wrote, be careful. Research and patience will pay off.

| Thank you everyone. Those were my thoughts. I am not in a hurry so I will keep looking. I have placed a deposit with Amazing Yorkies. I really liked she took the time with me and was patient with all my questions. |
