| Not getting much sleep My wonderful ginger is 16 weeks. Is it normal for her to get up 3 times a night before morning to go to the bath room? Last night I went to bed at 11 pm she cried till 1250 am. I took her out side a few times but she just wanted to play. From 1 am till 8 am she wanted to go potty 4 times. Most of the time she she goes to bed great. But she does get me up about 3 times to pee or poo. Is this normal at her age? |

| Yes! They're still babies and can't hold it very long. It will get better as she gets older but even when she's fully grown, you might have to do 1-2 potty runs in the middle of the night. Or you might consider opting for pee pad... |

| Very normal for puppies, but not fun! I lost a lot of sleep the first year, but not as much as you. Things should improve for you quickly as Ginger grows and settles into a routine. Try to wear her out more during the day and evening. Take her for a potty break right before you go to bed. With my boys, I always had a short play session before bedtime. We use pads, but I still had to get up around 5 am to take care of poops. I often still do, but I know that I could work on changing their schedule. Good luck!

| We use pee pads in the bedroom. She gets off the bed and does her business and sometimes I don't even know until the morning.

Now my cat when she was a kitten, I didn't sleep for a full two years. She would attack me every time I move, I would hear things being knocked over. If I locked her out the bedroom she would scratch at the door. Last edited by yavenay; 12-21-2015 at 10:57 AM. | |

| I also use potty pads. I wake up once a night to take him he licks me when he needs to go. He's 7 months but I was getting up like 3 times when he was younger too. Thank goodness he's pee pad trained cause it would suck getting up at night to go outside especially now that its winter. I would suggest you get him potty pad trained if you don't like having to get up at night.
