| Yorkie Benefits-what are yours? Hi-I wanted to share a link to my HuffPo blog on adopting my beloved Winston. Or when he adopted me. I'd always been terrified of dogs but somehow my little Yorkie helped me overcome my fears. Some benefits that I've found of Yorkies-I exercise on Winston's schedule, not mine! And I am forced to walk every day, rain or shine. Also-because he doesn't see economic or other distinctions, my worldview has been expanded. We socialize with his (now my) friends and they are a varied lot. I'd love your thoughts and any reaction to the blog! Thanks. Rescuing Winston Churchill|Jean McCormick |

| Congratulations. Your life is forever changed because you opened your heart to these precious little souls. I really enjoyed your blog. I wish you a lifetime of love, joy, health, and memories with Winston. He is really precious. I was raised with dogs my entire life. I really come alive at the mere thought of one of my babies--my precious Katie, who shares her life with my husband and me, and who has instilled in us a love so pure, infinite, and deep. The joy and love she has given is iso palpable, so very deep, and a bond that's unbreakable. You can look at me and know that I'm speaking about my babies because others can feel my love and devotion. We also deeply love the three Yorkies we raised together before Katie, all sisters with the same father and their sister before them. We will always love and miss them. They are at The Rainbow Bridge together again. They have all reinforced to me what's really important in life. When Katie and I walk, all is right with the world again. I have very close friends, my husband, close family members, and babies through the years who have made life a lot warmer, joyful, more meaningful, and filled with such an intense love that the feelings bubble over. I am very shy and quiet, but with my babies, it's easy for me to share my love for them with others, and I've grown to love and care about members and pups here on Yorkietalk. I'm just so very lucky to be surrounded by people who understand what our babies mean to us.

| My last child got married in July. So we're empty nesters, or we would be if we didn't have Sally and Snoopy. And thery're happier to see me when I get home than my furless children ever were!

| The power of yorkie love. I was actually a cat person. I had cats my entire life and never owned a dog. While I didn't hate dogs, I just didn't see myself owning one. That all changed when my neighbor got a yorkie. I use to dog sit her yorkie when she went on her business trips. Even though I wasn't a dog person, she trusted me with her yorkie because she knew that her yorkie would be safe with me. In fact, we actually sort of started sharing Jasmine . She would come dropped Jasmine off just to hang out with me. Well my neighbor moved and I missed her yorkie so much I adopted my first yorkie. She has since passed away (RIP Brandie) but she has done for me all of the same things Winston has done for you. Now I have another yorkie who I absolutely adore. Enjoy Winston because he is worth it (as are all pets). It only gets better. |

| I have always been a dog person, but did not have one for almost 20 years because I don't have a yard for a dog... but then Bella came along and I can not imagine what kept me from enjoying the unfettered love of a dog for so long.

| Yes , I have an amazing Yorkie but I would not call myself a Yorkie person . I am a Dog , Cat & Animals in general person .. I've had Dogs & Cats ( currently 3 dogs & 2 cats ) my whole life . As well as Rabbits , Guinea Pigs , Rats , Mice & Fish .. I've also rescued many Turtles , Frogs , a Snake , a Blue Jay & Woodpecker from becoming roadkill .. I also found a lost Shih Tzu last year and kept him for 3 days until we found his owner . That was a happy reunion .. A few benefits of having pets for me is they make life interesting , they give unconditional love , there is always someone talk to .. |

| I've dreamed of owning a Yorkie since my early 20's but my ex wanted fierce Dobermans, but fierce they weren't! I live in a apartment but at the time I moved in my landlord didn't allow dogs. Finally after 25 + years of me begging and hinting, she agreed that I could have the dog of my dreams! Although years have passed and I have health issues, I benefit from my Yorkie. She's gives me the will and strength to get up every morning to take care of her every need, she always comes first! In return I receive unconditional love, sweet wet sloppy kisses each morning, and an unbelievable amount joy and laughter each day! Congratulations, Winston's absolutely adorable! I really enjoyed reading your blog as well. |

| I have a ton of pets, 3 of whom are dogs...and one is part yorkie. My little girl is my service dog. She's a lifesaver. She gives me the freedom and ability to leave my house and enjoy things other people can do, like movies or the store. She's amazing. |

| very nice story, I love how finding your little guy has enriched your life, thank you for rescuing him. It's amazing how many people you can meet because of your dog. I wanted to socialize Lola so we wound up joining several meetup groups, so now I have a whole new slew of friend. I also know many more of my neighbors because of her. I got over my fear of operating a sewing machine because I wanted to make clothes for my pup. So now not only do I make beautiful clothing for her, I also make some for charity auctions and have started to make a few rag quilts which I absolutely love sewing. I started volunteering at a nursing home with Lola. We also attend a lot of pet charity functions, attached are some photos of her in outfits I made attending different events, the lavender vest is something I donated to a Chicago rescue event. I bought a kayak just so I could paddle out to the sand bar across the lake from where I live so she can play fetch on the sand bar. So I have several new hobbies because of my pooch. Both my husband and I are in total agreement, life is better because of Lola

| My blood pressure is lower than it has been in years. The only thing we can contribute it to is puppy love! My first pet at 47 -- hate I wasted this much of my life with no pets. Best unconditional (with wet kisses) love ever!!!! |

| I have not had this happen, but you could get around it by changing the file name.

| Kaira loves fishing too! Mostly my boyfriend taught me, but Kaira enjoys coming along to keep my company and watch me try and sling flies. I think she mocks me. LOL |
