| Cough Question My baby will go to his water bowl and literally drink the water faster than he can get it down. After he does this, he will have a single cough that sounds like he is hacking up a lung. He may do this a few times or only once and only after drinking water. Could he be getting water into his nasal passage while guzzling water, and the lungs are trying to get the water out (much like ours would do)? I know I'm asking a ton of questions, but we are first time pet owners. Thanks! |

| Mine coughs at times also. Mostly when she's been outdoors. |

Lexi sometimes coughs after drinking water, especially when she drinks really fast after running around. I was concerned about it at first and even took a video to show her vet. The vet was not too concerned about it, but said if it gets worse to let her know. She did this ever since I got her at about 12 weeks and she still does it now at 1 1/2 and it has not gotten any worse.

YT 500 Club Member | Is this what the cough sounds like? The chi in the video. My dog has done it since he was 4 months old and he is now 1. He also will do it after running around alot or barking. The vet said he has a sensative trachea. https://youtu.be/lN1L1pXdfZM |

| Sometimes, drinking too fast does cause them to cough or snort. If this concerns you, I'm thinking a water bottle converter might do the trick. There was a tread about the converters not too long ago.. here's the thread. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...onverters.html |

| Thanks Everyone! I appreciate the responses. Mindy, mine doesn't sound quite like that. The best way to describe it with a "word" is a simple hack that sounds like "kack." He may only do it once or a few times, but it is that simple "kack" sound. He never does it any other time -- only when he guzzles water. When he drinks water like he should, he doesn't make the sound. Very strange. Magnus, my baby is about 3.7 pounds, almost 8 months old and neutered. The vet doesn't see him getting much bigger. I'm in the same boat as the original poster of your link. I'm unsure what size to get for him. |

IMHO, I think the "puppy" or the "mini puppy" would work fine for your Zeus.
