| Horrible Story!! I live in NJ and this has become quite a problem around here as well as Black Bears attacking or taking small animals Vhttp://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Coyote-Snatches-Pet-Yorkie-Dog-Runs-Away-New-Jersey-302278411.html?_osource=SocialFlowFB_NYBrand |

| Link not working for me, but we have the same problem, black bears and coyotes. Black bears attack my trash pails, if you bang on the window they look up at you like WTH, I get 2 pots, open my front door and bang pots together, then they leave, then I get phone calls from my neighbors asking if I am fighting with the bears again. Between the bears and coyotes is the reason Cody uses the back deck at night for potty, with me standing with him. I have a bear path behind my house, they are not scared of ppl, they will meander past ppl 10 feet from them. I have several spot lights around my back yard but I still will not allow Cody to use it even with me there with him.

YT 1000 Club Member | My mom has a bobcat that she sees across the road from her house sometimes. She is always worried about her s**tz tzu being out in their fenced yard because of it. They think it took one of their cats a few months back. They also have coyote's and large owls. They think an owl got a small cat a few years ago. They heard it one night and think the owl got something not realizing it was their granddaughter's (my niece) cat. Living in the country it tough. I live right in a big city. We might see an occasional oppossum or even a random raccoon wander through but not usually anything to worry about with the dogs too much.

| Coyote Snatches Pet Yorkie in Mouth, Runs Away in New Jersey: Police | NBC New York The reason why you never let your dogs out not supervised. I dunno how the person in the story did it but....I'm always there or someone is in the daytime. When its dark they my pups never leave the porch. Still Coyotees have been know to grab them even when on a leash.. Always a watch. |

| I have seen coyotes here on my 3.5 acre property and even though I have a 100' x 100' fenced in backyard I don't ever let Bentley out alone. They can scale a 6' fence with no problem. People did to be diligent in keeping their furkids safe.

| We were in NC. Dinky was on the porch soaking up the sun. He's behind a gate and can't get out. I watch him through the window. Well, I used to think that was enough. I went out to spot a fox about 50 feet away on the road, completely still and just staring at Dinky. It was interesting that Dinky did not bark. Did he not notice the fox. It could have been stalking him in some sneaky fox way. |

| Poor baby, my heart aches for him. I can only imagine the owners pain and shock while witnessing something so horrible happening to their baby. I haven't heard any sightings of coyotes in my area but this story only reminds me to stay very alert! Yazmin's never left outside unattended but to know a coyote can scale my 6' fence is a very scary thought! |

| Matese, this is the second time in a month. The one I mentioned happened yesterday in Randloph. The one earlier this month was in Saddle River. They aren't that close to each other. The first coyote was found and didn't have rabies. This poor little guy yesterday hasn't been found Between red fox, black bear, there have been mountain lions spotted, and now we have to be watchful of coyotes too!! Oh the life of a country girl! lol. I want to move to the city! |
