| Best way to I.D. a tiny Yorkie Puppy? I have a 3 lb, 9 week old Yorkie boy that I'd like to properly ID just in case something was to happen and we were to become seperated. With their necks being so small is the standard collar and tag the best option or are their other options? I plan to train him to walk with a harness to eliminate the risk of a neck injury which is one the reasons I'm asking. Thank you. |

| You can use cat collar or lil pals has very tiny collars. Also just an added note yorkies really should stay with there moms until 12 weeks so getting him early you need to watch out for bitting issues and socialization issues which are things there mom teaches them until 12 weeks.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Mine are microchipped and wear tags on their collars, but we use the harness for walking. For small/mini tags, I like boomerangtags.com

| I also use a collar with tags and use a harness for leashing. Winnie isn't microchipped yet but I plan on getting it done. |

| Both of mine wear an ID tag with their name and my and my husbands cell phone number, plus tags for their license, rabies tag, and pet trac # and they are microchipped. I used to leave their rabies tag off but the Park Ranger was at the dog park one day and checking. He told us the dogs were to wear their tag or we were to carry their papers. Yes, I'm paranoid that someone will steal them.

| I would get a kitten collar and attach a tag to it. My 1 pound kitten was able to wear a kitten collar and carry around the tag that went with it, so I assume a 3 pound dog should do just fine.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I microchip all my dogs - and advise a collar with dog tags on it as well.

| We use a harness and a collar for an I.D. tag. My dogs are microchipped and I have a photo copy of their license and rabies certificate on my cell phone.

| I use a cat collar with bell and I'd tags . Harness for walking and she's microchipped . Rabies info is left at home though. Just in case someone needs it, I have access to it via my email.
