| What do you think about these Nylabone dental chews? http://www.petsmart.com/dog/dental-t...pfm%3Dcategory Good.. or not so good? At first I wanted to use CET chews but after reading a few threads on Yorkie Talk, I decided not to. If these aren't good.. any recommendations for something better?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | If your dog will chew them I think they are great, but mine don't like them. We use bully sticks. I know some people don't like bully sticks either, because of bacteria or they could possibly break a tooth. I've found that boiling an inch of water in a cup and putting the bully stick in the boiling water for 30 seconds, makes the tip of the bully stick soft and kills bacteria. After cooling, I hold their sticks while they chew. However, Nylabones will last for years and years, at least around here.

The bully sticks sounded good to me until I found out what they're made from

| Are these chews edible? It says they are treats but I don't understand if it's just something that should be chewed like a regular nylabone or if it's something that they can eat.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I should have look at the link, I thought you meant the inedible nylabones, I given my two these before, but I'm not sure if it helps much with teeth. They do love them though.

He doesn't like antlers or Himalayan's, but they're a bit too hard for my liking anyway, so that works out. He refuses to touch Nylabones. He did chew one or two in the past, but the one that he had (a hard plastic small one), he chewed up sooo fast and it was all spikey on the edges, and cut his mouth. And then he liked the really rubber flexi ones but he was literally... eating rubber. I just didn't feel good about it. If I had a dog that wasn't so weird, I'd love nylabones, as they would be cheaper in the long run. Oh he does get Purina Dental Chews from Chewy.com too but he eats those pretty fast.

| I've been using Oinkies. My dogs love them. I can't stand the smell of bullies, even the odor free ones, but don't mind my little piggies smelling like bacon.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wish my dogs liked the Nylas but they just never have. They do like RMBs, CET Chews, Honest Kitchen Beams, Munchy Stix and a few other random thingys.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think most of us are referring to the inedible nylabones, not the ones you linked.

| I bought the Nutrident nylabones in the filet minon flavor and they smelled SOOO bad! They also got all squishy and stuck in her chin hair. Chloe also doesn't want anymore after the first one, I gave it to her today and she sniffed it and walked away. I gave her a carrot to chew on instead and she liked that better, I guess she decided to wants to keep her figure in shape LOL. Have you guys tried the CET veggie chews? I read before on YT that these chews cause choking and aren't edible? I might have misunderstood, though. I just don't understand how the Nutridents that I bought help to clean the teeth because they got all squishy and gross looking.
