Breeding a full brother and sister is a genetic toilet. I never ever place a full brother and sister with my clients until one of the other has been altered just because of this reason.

In humans we have laws about this - they state you can not marry your brother and sisiter. Wjy to simply to preserve the human race.

Are full brother and sisters bred- yes. It is called inbreeding. When you try something like this it can backfire in your face. You can end up with a genetic mess. You can have the worst of everything or you could on a chance end up with something good. This is better left alone. IMHO you had better know what you are dong in genetics ( background of the dogs) before you would consider such a thought.

Ask your breeder for a puppy from simular but different parents.

Thumbs down Not a good idea

I would have to say no also. My ex had three cats. The mother, and then a brother and sister cat. Now, this brother and sister were only "half" brother and sister (came from two different litters). Well, neither were fixed, and well, the bro and sis mated. One of the kittens had Tourettes Syndrome. Not only did it twitch (blinking tics), it would meow incorrectly...it would go..."meo meo meooooow." The kitten was also VERY small, and more or less stayed kitten size. I would go with a different breeder. Oh, and nice job on asking first! Also, did you do breeder research first? We just unfortunately had a member on here who wanted to breed her female. She was her beloved pet. Well, her female died, and so did all but one of the pups. She said she would have never allowed her pet to get pregnant if she knew this was a risk. I was thinking of getting my female pregnant before joining YT, but not after everything involved with breeding and the risks. NO WAY. If it's one thing that the members on Yorkie Talk taught me is to do LOTS of research first before making a decision. And as I said above, good for you for asking first!

Here is my experience with this. Many years ago I bought a teacup poodle from a lady from Germany that had showed these little dogs for years. She bragged about the breeding (inner breeding) saying it kept the line pure etc. My little Tia was a cutie but I think she was crazy! I didn't know any better at that time that it could do things like that. I ended up having to put her down by the time she was 8, I should have done it earlier but I loved her and put up with her until I just couldn't anymore! She had really odd behavior and would do things like lick the air. She would try to bite people when they came in then would love and kiss them a minute later, then try to bite again. I DO think her odd behavior came from the inner breeding.

Default No!

No to brother & sisters...
Father and Daughter is OK.
I have researched this with AKC years ago. AKC will accept only Father & Daughter.
I personally will not inline breed.
I do not think it is politically correct.
Breeders who show do, do this.
Me personally, No
There are some threads under "Breeder Talk" that this subject is about.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!!! The genes are too closely related and if you do that, you'll be headed down a disastrous road!

Grandfather to granddaughter is a better match if ANY inline breeding is done.

I have to stick with everyone on this... to many good lines out there that there is no reason to inline breed this close. If the breeder you are purchasing through has another line wait for that. Otherwise seek out another breeder with different lines.

Not exceptable in my book.

Genes are genes right? Why on earth risk bringing babies into this world that will more than likely have some genetic quirk from being inbred. Inbreeding is so wrong on multiple lvl's. Yes you can have normal pups, but you can also raise the risk of causing a genetic flaw in the genepool that may not show for a few generations. People don't breed within their families, because there is medical consequences. And not to mention it is GROSS. Will the good looks be passed on possibly, but it is what breeders don't see with the naked I that is scary.
