| MY LITTLE 11 YR OLD "SHADOW" --- dislikes me now This is breaking my heart. Zoey has always been my little shadow, wanting to be with me all the time, sleeping with me,lap baby, etc. Even all the years of giving her medicine, cleaning her teeth, etc she still was so happy to be around me. Ever since I had a splint in my mouth for TMJ, she just shakes when I pick her up. She just wants to lay in her bed, the vet has checked her for physical problems, just normal aging. Cannot begin to explain how this has broken my heart, I envisioned her last years to be my baby, now I am her enemy. I want her to be happy, but don't know how. If anyone can help, please do. |

| Did the vet check her anal glands? Shaking is usually a sign of pain, if she was truly afraid of you I think she would run away from you. Did the vet do any blood work? Is the splint removable? Is it white? Have you let her look at it closely? When it's in, if it makes you look like you're 'showing your teeth', this could have scared her. Just work to reassure her that all is okay and that you're sorry.

| You spooked her The splint tapped into a doggie hierarchy thing where she views you as dangerous right now because mouths are very telling to dogs shoeing teeth is threatening Reassure her play with her and give her treats and she'll come around
