| What do I do with my little Daredevil?? I swear I want to put Ricky in a bubble. He's become quite the little daredevil. I guess he doesn't realize he's a dainty 4 lb yorkie. He will jump off the arms of the couch and the end of the bed, despite there being dog stairs in both places....and he has biffed it several times. Today, he decided he would jump from a chair and onto my lap onto the floor(without me realizing he'd be dumb enough to take the plunge) .....and fell a little short. The other day, he got his foot caught on blankets as he was running to jump off the bed and did 3 somersaults on the floor. He is fine boned and has long, string bean legs. He's taller than my 8.5 lb yorkie!! I think it's only a matter of time before he hurts himself with his ruthless behavior. What can I do to stop him from doing something stupid?? BTW, he knows how to use his stairs. He just only chooses to use them when he wants to...and even with those, he's bolted up and down them so fast that he's tripped. He's just not careful at all. |

| Aww little Ricky. Maybe try using treats and praise when he uses the stairs? And if you're quick enough to catch him on the arms of couch ready to jump just put him on the stairs, and give him positive reinforcement? Also try to get your 8.5lb yorkie baby to follow suit. I'm sure there risk isn't probably there with him, but I bet Ricky is taking pointers from him.

| I know what you mean, I also have a sting bean 4lb, who thinks he is a goat. I won't let him on my bed because he ignores stairs and tries to jump down. He can't jump up unless without stairs. I have no suggestions |

| Ughhh i know the feeling. Gizmo just learned to jump on the couch the other day, he's pretty stocky compact built though, but he now thinks he's evincible :-( and he's so fast. Before I know it he just goes flying up and down off the couch like its nothing, thankfully I have fairly low couches, as he will be only 5 months tomorrow and just under 4 lbs.. He's just a little zoom monster with no fear at all. I don't think I could stop him for anything. I've tried but he gets right past me he's so so fast :-( |
