| Shaking....... Anytime I put on a dress or a sweater on Darla she immediately puts her ears back and starts shaking, she cant walk normal, she half way squats and shakes. I just got the cutest Halloween dress for her from Y2H on Etsy and its adorable on her. However the shaking is horrible. Its like she feels punished? I don't get it. Take it off her and BAM back to normal. I've put it on her at least 10 mins the last couple days each and I talk to her try to get her to play even give her treats NOPE she stands there and shakes. She will follow me room to room but she shakes, sulks and ears are completely back. What do I do? |

| LOL!!!!! My little guy does that when I put a collar on him!!!! However, I would start with a simple sweater to get her used to it, probably won't be as bulky as a Halloween costume. Basically stick to your guns and leave it on her, she should get used to it by Halloween! |

| Give a treat when you put it on, then take it off. Do this off and on for a few days. Slowly start lengthening the time and give more treats and she will begin to love clothes. She is just scared right now. |

| Barney does that every time we get the fly swatter out and we have NEVER swatted him. It makes you feel just terrible. Sadly, flies are safe to fly in our house because we feel too guilty to swat them with Barney around.

| Huey will wear a shirt, but anything more (like a Halloween costume) and he becomes paralyzed and stands in one place- many times leaning against a wall as if it is too heavy for him to stand unaided- until it is removed. The only good part of this is it is the only time he will stand still for photos!

| Charlie often will shake in the elevator, usually only on the way down. Not sure if it's due to the vibrations, or if he's just excited because he knows he's going somewhere ? |

I agree. Galen would not allow me to put anything thing on. I would give him treats when I put it on and off. Then I would give him a treat when he is wearing it.

| I don't understand. If a dog clearly does not want, or is afraid to wear clothes, why make them? Isn't that putting your own wants and needs before the dog's? |

| I wouldn't do this to my dog. I'd just heat up the house more if it were cold and keep the times outside shorter. Unless it is totally freezing, your little baby won't freeze to death without clothing. They are animals and even without a double coat, a Yorkie won't freeze or grow ill without clothing in the house or outside for a while. Dogs usually shake to show emotion like fear, anxiety or from pain. They don't walk when in clothing because they feel restricted and uncomfortable so probably you ought to just accede to her wishes and keep her clothing free. Tibbe won't wear clothing and I cater to his wishes and keep him clothing free. Anything my baby wants he gets, including the freedom to decide what HE wants and to even go without cute shirts if he wants.
