| Help! My baby girl is 8 months old today . Its going by so fast! My only problem is that she doesnt eat much anymore. She has been on Royal Canin since she was about 12 weeks. I am thinking maybe she is just picky and bored of her food. What do you recommend for a good food for a Yorkie puppy? I will try anything to get her to eat! She is only 2 pounds as it is and I cant afford her to lose anymore weight (she already lost some weight)!

| When did she slow down on eating? Has she had her first heat? Could some of the weight loss and reduction in food intake be related to the hot weather? My boys have both lost weight in the past month. Is she active? I would try to stimulate appetite through activity before jumping into food enticements or changing foods. When did she last see the vet? Any other problems?

YT 2000 Club Member | dog Do you feed her just dry dog food or do you put some water for gravy? I feed my boys blue buffalo with a little water on it and then a little wet chicken and veg. blue buffalo food. They eat that up. Perhaps she is bored with the food. I would try a bit of another high quality dog food to see if she prefers the taste. |

Max had to be hand fed his first year. He wanted to play games/do tricks for each one of his kibble. After we added a second Yorkie, he started eating on his own. You can use food enticements or try a different food, but be careful not to keep offering her something new every 2 seconds if she doesn't gobble her food down. It is easy to reinforce finickiness. My boys eat Fromm, and they do get some treats in very small amounts (one of these a day): 2 tiny shreds of Parmesan, plain Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, green beans, sweet potato, scrambled egg.

| My two were on Royal Canin but Izzy developed the itches from it so I switched them to Halo's Spot's Stew and they love it!. I feed them a mix of a couple of the different flavors. I also give healthy treats a couple times a day. Good luck with your little one.

YT 500 Club Member | I'm having the same problem with my girl. Sophie is 7 mo. and 3 pounds. She seems really skinny in the rear. She still eats her kibble but not nearly enough. I went today to a little shop near me and they gave me several samples to try with her. I am still free feeding her dry food and giving her a decent helping of the wet food in the middle of the day to see how she does. Anyway, today we tried Stella & Chewy's food. I added warm water to it and let it soak in. She dove in like she was starved. They gave me enough for a few days. I'll let you know how it turns out.

YT 500 Club Member | Mine are currently on Halo, Spot's Stew. (Puppy for Sophie, and adult for Fritz) Sophie just isn't chowing down on it. She just picks and plays with it before she eats it. Fritz eats it just fine.
