| New (sort of) to YorkieTalk Hi, I had joined about 9 months ago when my male Yorkie, Louie was dg. with Legg Perthes in left hip- he was having surgery the day I found this site and just needed some experience and hope. Louie is my first yorkie and he really had a challenging first year. Anyway, I'm sorry I didn't let anyone who read that fear-filled first post know how well things turned out. The vet had said he doubted the other hip would be affected but 4 months later Louie was having his 2nd hip joint removed. (by a different surgeon). He's small about 4-1/2 pounds and I wondered how he would do with the two major surgeries and he was amazing. He runs, hops, jumps, plays like there's no tomorrow and he's pain free!! i'm now considering/looking at possibly adopting another yorkie- I can't believe how much I love my dog! My grown and married son occasionally seems a bit jealous that Louie gets more attention than he recalls getting as a child. (He doesn't)(Maybe he does) I'll post a picture when I can figure out where I put them on computer! |

| Oh I am so glad you came back to let us know that the surgery (and the subsequent 2nd surgery) was a success! Yay for Louie!!! I say, get that 2nd one - Louie would love to have a playmate, right?

| Thank you- I may be crazy but I really believe Louie would love a sister- I'm trying to attach a pic I took when he came home from surgery- totally zonked and the picture of him up and out for a walk with no hip joints!! He's a brave guy- I'm thinking that's not unique among yorkies. I've got to read instructions- said a security token was missing- oh well, thanks for the welcome and cheers for Lou. We both appreciate!! When I can figure the attachment thingy I'll post his pics. Y'alls babies are beautiful. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Welcome back to YT! So glad to hear that Louie is doing so incredibly well, what a great happy ending. I hear you on loving your furkids so much that it's bigger than almost everything else. My hubby always says I love the doggies more than him. I'll just keep lettin' him think that, keep him on his toes .

| Hi Wylie's mom- your baby is precious. What a face! Now that I'm paying attention to yorkies in general- I'm amazed at how different and unique each little face is. Kind of like people who've never had children saying babies all look alike. Anyway, thanks for the welcome and Wylie really is so cute. I'm going to post pic of Louie this weekend. My husband appreciates that I don't try to squish up against him on the sofa since we got Louie. I'm just as happy holding Louie and cuddling with him during football season...and baseball....and golf. Have a great weekend. |
