Yorkie Yakker | A few questions Can someone tell me if i have to trim Chloe's hair on her head for the golden color to come in or does the grey just turn the golden color both of her parents had golden hair around the face and head. My next question. Chloe is 10 months old And weighs 3 pounds She has been stuck at 3 lbs for 2 mts now I was hoping she would get about five pounds. she feels so fragile she does have a very small frame do you think she could still put on a couple of lbs. thanks for all your help to my questions. |

| the part that turns gold or tan should turn regardless of weather you cut it or not as far as I know. Yumi still even has some black on the ends of some of her blonde spots |

| First of all she is totally adorable! I love the silver color. I am not sure her coloring will change a lot more. I know at 6 months Rosie was more black and now she is covered with the silver color. As far as weight, I think she could still gain some. I got Mikki at one year old and she ended up gaining about another pound. Hopefully someone with more experience can answer these better for you.

| I think yorkies hair colour changes a great deal until they are about 3yrs when it settles to what it will stay.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Tuffy had a lot of black on his head until about the time he turned one. He's all tan on his head now. Bella has always been a blonde. We got her at 10 months. Your pup is a little dollbaby! Thanks for posting the pic

| The heads turn to gold at different ages. Some keep their color longer before turning. Some never turn at all. Although from the picture, I think her color will gold. You don't have to cut it to get the gold, it comes at it's own pace. She should gain a little bulk, but she won't gain much in actual size or structure. I find they can gain about a lb. after their heat cycle. |

| Your Chloe looks a lot like Mandie with her coloring. I have recently asked the same question. Mandie turned 1 year on the 12th and she still has a lot of grey/almost white underneath on her head. Just last night, I saw some show dogs that looked like they STILL had some of the grey on their heads so our pups might never change. Only time will tell. This is the most recent pic of Mandie - see all the grey still?
