| Rescue Yorkies I love this forum and feel you can learn and find so much useful info...however it is discouraging that so few people are talking about and encouraging rescue with so many homeless yorkies out there.

| I have to disagree...I think everyone encourages rescues. Zeus is a rescue, as is my cat Odysseus. There are many rescues on here.

| Aw Leni, I agree and will advocate more for it here, the work that you and others here do is amazing and I can't imagine what the pups would do without you all...I really can't.

| I want a rescue yorkie but it seems there are none in my area...or if so they are seniors or have horrible health conditions and I couldnt do that to my kids. I looked on craigslist for about a month and petfinder.com and adoptapet.com...there were no yorkies. :/

| I actually see it recommended quite often - especially to new members looking for their first Yorkie or not wanting to spend a large amount of money on a puppy. However, it is VERY important and those that rescue are true angels so it can never be spoken about and advocated for enough!

| Rescue yorkies can be so awesome. My mom rescued a yorkie and he had a few little issues but we worked them out and he is such a great little guy! If I get another it will be a rescue no doubt.

| I have a rescued yorkie and cat. In fact in my whole life and out of all the pets I ve have, only one has been purchased from a pet store. All the rest of my pets were either strays or rescues. |

| My whole life I have never "purchased" a cat or dog, yet rarely have I, or my family growing up, been without at least one. All of my babies were either walk-ups (some tossed out on the dirt road in the woods), feral, Humane Society foster babies...we've never been able to return a foster ...and/or adoptees, or needed a "good home" for reasons unrelated to their behavior. I have never had an issue with even the most wild, injured, and/or 'originally unruly' arrival. All have shown me their sweet and loving nature. They just needed a chance. I so very much appreciate everyone who saves a sweet furry baby, and/or gives it a lap to nap in. Thank you all!

| People suggest Rescue here all the time. I can tell you that out the 11 Yorkies I have owned all but 3 have been Rescues. I love my Rescues.

| I Like your passion. Rescue is all about second chances and I love it when that perfect match happens. Twice last year we got very pregnant females and were able to place the newly spayed females and their pups. That wonderful forever home is what I want for every dog or pup we help. The advice most of us give when someone says I want a Yorkie is, go to a reputable Rescue or choose a reputable Breeder. Then we proceed to tell them how to do that. I am glad you are part of YT your love and outreach will help educate new members.

| I have to disagree, on almost every thread where people mention they are looking for a new yorkie... rescue is suggested. This forum is full of people who have rescued!
