| is there such an existing color for yorkie called merle hi im new to this site and im still learning i just wanted to ask if merle colored yorkies existed |

| Merle definitely isn't a standard color for yorkies. If you see a 'merle' yorkie, it is mixed with something else.

| Merle isn't a color, it's a gene. It produces the blue in blue heelers and the red in red heelers. It's what produces blue born yorkies. We had a blue chihuahua that was deaf and blind because of his Merle gene. It's not a good thing!

| thanks for explaining that too me I didnt know the blue born yorkies had that gene but now it makes sense. Does it cause health problems in other breeds like it can with the blue born

| I have a Merle Border Collie I love her but she is deaf.. And it is from breeding Merle to Merle She is a rescue I have her and her brother. |

| Merles have many issues it is sad ... so many are born Deaf and or Blind.. also can be lethal white.. To many breeders Breed merle to merle to try to get that "perfect" color.. |
