| I certainly don't know what the cause of that behavior is, but I'd go to the vet. Perhaps other members here can offer some guidance. Good luck. |

| Tia has been licking her paws like crazy, but I noticed her ears first. She woke up one morning and wouldn't stop scratching/shaking her head. Took her to the vet and it was allergies for her. Vet said it was like having a swarm of mosquitoes in her ears. My allergies seem to be acting up also. We are trying to control allergies for all three of us (mommy, Ally, Tia). I use Benedryl and tiny yorkie socks to keep her from getting too crazy. |

| My Milo done this and we changed his food and it got better. The vet said it could be allergies. Try a food without chicken. We feed him natural balance duck and potato. It has really helped.

| When Buster is stressed, he licks everything. If he's in the car, he will lick the windows, the door, the seat, anything within tongue range. If he's at home, he will lick us in the face, lick our hands, etc. When he does this at home, I try to hold him and tell him no, but it doesn't always work.

| In our case, it was from a food allergy to chicken. Hot Rod was really itchy and flaky when we first got him and we didn't know what it was. Just by accident we figured out it was from chicken. I have read that chicken can cause allergies quite frequently. I might start there and if that didn't work, try elimating other types of foods one at a time, giving each item some time to get out of his system. Good luck.

| From what I have read, licking paws usually means some type of allergy. However, when my Piccolo was doing this 4 years ago, it turned out that this was one symptom of the cutaneous vasculitis she was developing. Hopefully, you will talk to the vet about the paw licking and things get figured out.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Paw licking/chewing is often allergies; does he itch his body? Licking other stuff can be a habit, a coping thing, or a taste thing (or even a bit of a pica thing...does he eat weird stuff?). Is his appetite excessive or odd?

| I agree that it sounds like allergies... What are you feeding him?
