Car Seats Do any of you use a car seat? Pita rides in a basket on the console now but when she outgrows it I'm going to get her a car seat. Do any of you use one?

I have a seat belt / harness for my 7lb Pom. It's the smallest I could find, so I don't know what I'll do for my Yorkie. She'll be about 3lbs full grown.

I found a car seat online. It boost my pups up so they can see out the window...well, almost. All you have to do is hook the seat belt around the back of it and it comes with an attachment that hooks on the their harness. My dogs love it. I'll try to attach a pic, not sure if it will work (first time posting)...

Where did you find that car seat? We are going on a long trip at the end of the month , and I'm not really sure what to do with Kai in the car? Shes not a big fan of the car unless shes sitting on my head (or trying to) and its really hard to drive like that not to mention the safety issues!!!

I don't remember the website but I did a google search on "dog car seat". They are a little bit pricey but well worth it. We had to take a long road trip (11 hours) and I really wanted to take the babies. They both sat in their own seat the whole time, except potty brakes of course. I was shocked how good they were. I use them all the time. Try this site: http://www.healdsburgdoghouse.com/snlobo.html If I can think of the site I got mine from I'll post it. Jennifer

My Piper rode in a laundry basket in the front passenger seat for all of his 16 1/2 years. He would stay in it until I lifted him out. I am planning on using a car seat in the back seat for my new Yorkie (coming home in about 7 weeks) because I read that if the airbags in the front seat inflate, they can kill a small dog. I sure don't want to have that happen, as much as I will miss having my little friend right beside me on trips! Piper's mom

| My baby has the GlobalPet carseat. it is a carseat, suitcase, and bed all rolled into one. It straps into your car much like a child's carseat and has a hook so that you can strap them in by their harness. It costs around $80, but worth the money. Bouncer LOVES IT. Especially since it puts him right at the window where he can don his doggles and let his hair fly when the window's down! hehe Of course, he always rides in the backseat since the airbag just isn't safe for his tiny size if something where ever to happen and we were in a wreck.

Sprocket loves his kennel in the van and stays calm if I try to take him out he gets scared so he likes that and I took baby crib bumper pads and did some alterations to fit iside his crate. He feels more at home in what seems to him to be a scary place.

I have this one for Tini from Petsmart, it was $20. It is easy to put on / take off the seat too, only 3 clips. She does much better with it. Since we got it, she hasn't puked in the car. http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...=1110259354643

| Tatum loves her car seat. I can't remember which website I got it from but here's a link to the same one on just a random site I found... http://www.pettails.com/consolelookout.html I have a Chevy Tahoe and it works well sitting on the console but you have to have the right kind of console for it to sit on. I've told this story before but.... when my toy poodle was just about 8 weeks old, he caused me to have a really bad accident where I totalled my car (but neither of us were hurt!) because he was running back and forth from my lap to the passenger seat and I was trying to make him sit down. After that, I was not real comfortable driving around with him but didn't really know of pet car seats. It was one of the first things I got when we got Tatum. A very good idea!!

jogi37 The car seat from Petsmart, does it have a clip in it to attach to their harness? It doesn't look like from the picture that they are able to see outside, can they. Does this car seat actually sit flat on the passenger car seat?
