| Choppa was taken It has been a week but I'm still reeling from this. He was taking from my fenced back yard (privacy fence) in broad daylight. YT has reminded me over and over that people lay in wait for opportunities to take them but I felt secure in the fact they could not be seen back there. they only took Choppa and not my Shanti. The part that really perplexes me is Shanti barks at anyone even walking on the street....so did I know this person? Complete turmoil I continue to look for him daily but the reality is school is out, children are visiting from other areas, anyone could have done it but everyone looks like a perp to me Though I haven't had time to post in months, I have shared many Choppa moments here and just needed to unload some of my pain. When most of your friend aren't pet people, they can't understand. Had he died, I could grieve but being taken keeps my wound wide open. Watch your babies with both eyes. I cry just thinking of what he is going through. If someone would steal him, I seriously doubt they would take care of him. I'm praying he was sold to someone with a heart and not the other awful possibilities. Thanks for reading

| I am so very sorry,I know that your heart is in such pain. I do not understand why people think it is ok to steal a furbaby, right out of your yard. I to hope that he is with someone that will take good care of him. |

| I am so sorry. I can't even begin to think how you must be feeling. As bad as I hate to say this, I have a relative who is a detective and he says that 90% of the time it is someone who knows you. I hate that you are going through this. Hugs to you.

YT 1000 Club Member | Fmom, I KNOW every single person on this forum, is grieving with you. I certainly am. I worry about having mine taken all the time, and have converted my back yard into a literal fortress. It's hard to say this giving how upsetting all this is, but.. You should have come online here immediately. You never know how many of us are/live near your area, and if notified, may see something which may help. I DON't mean to chastise you, this is something we ALL should do for each other. We should have a prepared list of Phone Numbers to call to alert the proper factions about the theft. I have (reasonably) current Pictures (face front/profiles) and have constructed a .doc with a description and picture to be ready to print and post around on the telephone poles. I have my two electronically tagged, and listed with several recovery agencies in this area and nationally. Gees, I'm so paranoid it's pathetic, but as many of us here, would be just devastated if we were to have to deal with what you're going through now. ALL our hearts go out to you in you time of loss. We hope and pray that your beloved Choppa will be returned to you soon.

| Oh, I am so sorry to hear this. I know what it is to lose a dog & it truly is one of the most traumatic, painful experiences life can hit us with. You blame, you grieve, you worry & agonize, you get angry, scared, depressed, hopeless & that's just part of all of the feelings & emotions. I can only pray that somehow your baby got out some tiny opening(my Tibbe recently got out a less than 4" wide space between my gate & fence post) & ran for a bit, then was found by someone who is taking good care of that baby. My sister's dog got out, was gone for a time & then it turned out, the postwoman spotted him in the house of a neighbor just down the street & told her. Or, he could escape from whoever took him, if they did, & find his way home. Just keep doing all of the recovery things you've been doing & checking outside frequently in case he returns & looking all around the house every time you check. When Tibbe has gotten out the 2 times he has, he turns up on the side of the house & hasn't responded to my calling! I had to go around the house to find him! And you do hear those stories of it taking 2 -3 weeks or longer for some dogs to get found. Since you've likely alerted all vet clinics & if he's chipped, you never know - you may get a call from one of those that you little one is there, having been brought in by the person who has him. I will be praying this baby finds his way home & praying for you & all that you are going through. It really is miserable. I'm so, so sorry but hope is alive.

| This is ME!! WITH MY PARANOID SELF!! MY ENTIRE HOME IS A FORTRESS, INCLUDING MY YARD!! I have alarms and video cameras, laser beam detection devices, and I am armed!~ I have a plan of action if the unthinkable happens, and everyone is microchipped and ID'd! ANYTHING can happen...all we can do is be prepared...I already have all the lists of people to contact...the only thing I have NOT done....and am seriously giving consideration to....several years ago, I received a brocheure about a service that was available for an annual charge...must have been high or I would have already done it!...and if your dog goes missing, according to what you have signed up for, they will saturate every corner, every business and even call everybody within a 1 mile, 2 mile, 3 mile, 4 mile, etc radius, looking for your dog!!! I really want to check into that again! Quote:
