| Yorkie Found in OK...Know Who's Lost One? A female Yorkie was found in a small town in Oklahoma on Saturday. The dog was in basically good condition except dirty. Not too thin, so she must not have been on her own for long. The people who found her are watching for posters, checking bulletin boards and checking Craigslist for postings of lost dogs. So far, no signs of her owner. So far, no "Found Yorkie" posters are put up because of concern about a 'bad' person seeing the poster and claiming her for the wrong reasons. She is a nervous dog, and seems particularly skittish around men. The first day, she was reluctant to eat or drink, but that has improved. She's drinking ok and eating a little better now. Her gums were checked to see if she is dehydrated, and seem fine. She is being taken to a vet today to check for a microchip, and have her checked out. They have already gotten a little attached to her, and they are willing to keep her if her owner doesn't turn up. She looks adorable, but her eyes are sad, and she looks tired. Does anyone know who lost a Yorkie in OK?

| I don't know of anyone off hand but I am very close to Oklahoma. I will keep my eyes open and see if I hear of anyone.

| I sure hope that they find the owners of this little girl. She must be so frightened, no wonder she's nervous out on her own like she was. Thanks goodness she was found. |

| UPDATE: The lost yorkie was reunited with her family 4/24/12 evening. A flyer was discovered on a bulletin board, they called the number and the lady was able to describe her in great detail, all the way down to the very distinctive freckles/birthmark on her belly the Yorkie that they were hoping to reuinite with her owner. Turns out that her kids let her out by accident. One lesson for all-- this dog did have a microchip, but the owner had not registered it. The pup would have gone home a day sooner if her mom would have mailed in the paper work! I think this family learned their lesson and will keep her safe. And now, the people who found the lost OK Yorkie have fallen in love with Yorkies, and will be looking for one to live with them! So, a happy ending all around! lol I am pleased that this story had ended on such good note and not too much time to locate the owners, who helped by posting on that bulletin board. Regardless, I'll be hugging my Yorkies extra tight tonight. Thanks to everyone for their prayers and positive thoughts and 'vibes'...I am certain they helped...again!

| So happy to hear this baby found her family. For future Ref if you know of someone who has found a dog.... Tell them to run an ad in the local newspaper in the lost & found as most newspapers will run found ad for free. The add should read as follows ( FOUND small/large dog Please call to identify / with the phone # ) & that is all the info that is needed. This way You don't give them ANY info & people are pretty good about describing their own dog. |
