| Odd night Last night was really strange. You know how you hear those stories on dogs sensing something before it happens? Well last night I was stressing out because I thought Peanut was sensing something!! We went to bed, we always take Pnut with us, for a couple mins of snuggles before we put him in his crate for the night. It was our nightly routine. We snuggled and he licked and got up to be put it in his crate. DH got up and placed him in his crate. Well about 5 mins later I heard him crying. I told DH he might have to pee. DH lets him out and he said he went a little bit. He came back and put him in his crate. Maybe 10 mins later I heard Pnut crying again. It wasn’t his normal cry. It sounded like his little puppy cry, like he needed something or something was wrong. I let him out and he ran over to the bed- This is not like him. Peanut loves his crate and never wants to sleep with us. I let him in bed with us.. He went under the blankets and started licking then he laid down. 10 mins later he got out and went over to DH he kind of sniffed DH’s face, and made a little peep- I then started thinking OMG is Peanut sensing something… Is DH going to have a heart attack or something… I was kind of stressed. Pnut then laid half way on DH and half on me. He didn’t lay down completely he left his head up and his ears up. It seemed like he was protecting us. It was really strange, this is not really like Peanut. I was petting his back and I fell asleep, Then DH got up and was coughing really bad and woke us up, Dh got up to get some water- Peanut got up and wanted off the bed. I let him down and he went in his crate. It was so strange, I don’t know what was up with Pnut last night. Thankfully nothing happened. It was just odd!!

| You may not see or hear anything for several days, then all of a sudden, you will realize, THAT was what he was trying to communicate to us!" |

| It is odd when they act out of the ordinary. I know dogs can sense things one night jewels was acting very nervous and panting during a thunderstorm and it was extreme. I had the tv on and they said a funnel cloud that could produce a tornado was headed our direction. It turned and didnt come our direction however I know Jewels knew it was not an ordinary storm

| Ya it was too strange for him- That is not how he acts. Something was up!! It is beyond crazy how smart these little beings are! I am sure there is a purpose for his strange behavior!

| Obviously he sensed something not right or not the same and he was worried. They have a sense we know nothing about sometimes!

| Dogs do use their 6th sense, maybe even more, but they also have better hearing than we do. He could have heard something outside, maybe a coyote in the distance. Either way, we should always pay close attention like you did to our dogs behavior.

| I made the mistake of watching some ghost hunter show on one of the channels that I never watch. It showed how these dogs would act really freaky before some strange thing would happen in the home.Thankfully I have never had that experience. Animals do have senses that humans lost long ago. They can tell when body chemistry changes as well as atmospheric changes. Too bad we can't understand some of the things they try to communicate to us. |

| I would be making an appt for DH to see his Dr & sooner rather then later. Is DH sick with a cold rite now ? if not & he's coughing this could be a sign of heart trouble. The coughing can be continuous or spuradic with the heart. Last edited by lillymae; 03-21-2012 at 10:30 AM. |

| He was recently sick with a bad cold. His cough still has a hold of him, but thank you for bringing that to my attention!

| I would still be going in for a check up. My Brother & Sister in law had a poodle about 6 yrs old & a baby boy 2 yrs old & the dog did not like the 2yr old & would do whatever it took to stay away from the baby, then suddenly the dog started scratching at the babies bdrm door nightly till my SIL finally let her in the babies room & the dog jumped on the bed & lay across Jake's chest so SIL removed the dog. This went on nightly for about 2 mo till one night Jake went to bed & cried telling mommy he couldn't breath & SIL thought he was just not wanting to go to bed. The next day he had a cough & runny nose so SIL thought his breathing trouble may be from his cold so she got him out of bed on night # 2 of this & off to the ER they went. Turns out that our precious Jake had not one of the rarest but THE rarest cancer known to man & only 12 people to this date have been diagnosed with this cancer & all have passed except 1 girl & they do not know why she survived. So YES if your pup is acting strange around you or DH, Please heed the warning. |
