| Difference between males and females - Please.. I think I've lost my mind, but I so enjoy having these pups, Miss Mini is soon to be 7 and Miss Mia is 3.7 mos. or so. They love being together now, though its on Miss Mini's terms! Miss Mini still hasn't warmed to laying or cuddling with her, but boy do they play..but when Mini's done, shes done and Miss Mia is left to be a loner...I can't help but think that Miss Mia should have someone more her age as well, to grow old with...am I crazy? Miss Mini will always be the queen, she is our heart. What would bringing another puppy into the picture be like for Miss Mini? Will they exclude her? Will it work? What if I bring in a male? Can they be peepad trained? Will he be marking my house? What are the differences of male and female puppies? I have had male puppies but they were labs and not house dogs. I'm thinking a male for me cuz these 2 little girls seem so attached to my husband! I want my own!! Any advice??

| Your male wont mark in the house if you get him neutered as soon as possible like 6 mos. I like having a male and female. They are different but I will tell you it is my female that is more the cuddly one so the male isnt always the cuddly one as most say on here. My male is the comical one though and the smartest one. He was so easy to potty train and also command train. My male does some of the cutest things and life is one big adventure to him.

As for bringing in a male, a friend of mine has a 14 year old female Pom and her granddaughter has a 6 month old male Yorkie and I watch them play together and the male does not try to be alpha over the pom. However, the Yorkie is a pup and runs circles around the pom to the point where the Pom is exhausted most of the time. But the Yorkie has never showed alpha characteristics towards the Pom but the Yorkie has a great owner who keeps him in check, too. The Yorkie male was easily pee pad trained and is a brilliant dog. He goes on the pads without fail, and if you put a poop on there he should do #2 on them as well. He is well trained and has an excellent owner/mother. He has never once marked in the house. My female never harks in the house but sure does outside, probably more than a male lol. I have not noticed a difference between a young male yorkie and female yorkie. I have seen my friends granddaughtefs male a lot and you would never guess he is male but then again he is a pup so that might all change. But he was no different from our female pups as far as activity, aggressiveness, barking, eating, pee accidents, energy level etc. I don't think you can go wrong with a little man. The one I see all the time is just such a character and I think if you train them well the difference between a male and female would be subtle. | |

| I have a male.... He's the best!! He was neutered at 6 months and has never marked in the house. He was also very easy to train using the pee pads. |

| Well I have 2, 1 male, a year and a half and just got a new female she is 7 months.. Well I got a male first cause usually males are are a bit easier to train, in my opinion.. but... he got so attached to my husband that he is his shadow now...So I decided to get a female, I was jealous ha ha.... She came in the house at 2 months of age.. My male was overjoyed.. they got along beautifully.. Now about the marking well... I think that all depends if your male has competition.. meaning another male in the house... Well my husband already had another male dog in the house before we got married .. this was a problem... My male Yorkie started marking the whole house and he NEVER pees in the house ... She also was marking around the house.. and it has been hell house breaking her with the current situation...As far as character .. I love both my Yorkies equally.. but my female is so attached to me.. we are inseparable.. But SHE rules the house as far as who is the boss... I would get a female.. they seem more fragile and need mommy more... Plus you get to dress them up in nice pretty dresses and bows |

| Tucker is definitely the boss in our house but Lola is no doormat. She will give him a run for his money and then fold when it comes right down to it. Tucker thinks all dog toys and bones belong to him. Lola humors him by letting him think they are his too but she will hide them so he goes crazy looking for them. She will on occasion not let go of a bone or toy but in a very playful manner....tail wagging and little happy snarling sounds. He will howl like he can not believe he is not getting his own way. Gosh I love them! |

| I have 4, 3 Yorkies (1 male, 2 females) and a female Biewer. Mine are all cuddly, and for the most part, they all get along very well (with minimal effort from me, lol). I am determined to make it work though. I don't allow fighting of any kind. I do watch for any bullying, and will boost self esteem if needed by switching the feed order around and other little things. They pretty much like both me and DH, they have their favorites but won't exclude either of us.

| male has a penis female has a vagina.....sorry I just had to I wouldn't be in a rush to bring in another one until you've got the puppy trained, only my opinion as I believe the older dogs teach the younger ones. Two girls, well it's like humans, if two females in the same room are after the same item of clothing boy or handbag, you are going to have some tensions. Unlike boys you just through in some sports and some beer and all is well. Patience, it'll work itself out, relax sit back and enjoy your baby gurls. |

| My Tibbe wasn't neutered until he was almost 1 year old and he has never - never - marked in the house - ever. He's the cleanest dog in the house I have ever had and when it is raining really hard in the morning after having slept all night, he has gone a total of almost 12 hours before relieving himself outside. He'd rather go outside as is the most natural method for the canine who loves to leave scent on its territory that matters - the outdoors where lots of other dogs and creatures can scent it. My little girl Yorkie that I had, Jilly, could not "hold it" as long as Tibbe can and I don't know if that was a male-female thing or the fact that she was only 3 lbs. and maybe her bladder was too small for her little kidneys or something. Still she was remarkably clean in the house but rain or not, when she woke in the morning, she had to go out right away - just couldn't hold it any longer. She was dancing and whirling around telling you she needed to go immediately whereas Tibbe is just Mr. Cool and will check out the window and if he sees rain, will usually just curl back up waiting for the rain to pass. And he never acts like he just has to go out really badly mornings. It seems like he has more capacity to hold himself and again, I don't know why that is.
