| Snoozer vs Pet Gear vs Solvit Tagalong Is there really much of a difference? Are all just as safe and secure? It looks like they buckle in different areas. Maybe I should wait and see how big he gets before I purchase. He's not crazy about being zipped up in his carrier in the backseat now. |

| (I'd written this on another thread and just copied it here for you...) I don't have a Solvit, but I do have both the Pet Gear and the Snoozer carseats (Had the Pet Gear first & then bought the Snoozer so my parents could stop by & pick her up on days I end up working really late). The Pet Gear seat form is made from polystyrene and the sides are firm. ZoE likes this when riding around town, because she stands in her seat and puts her front paws on the side and looks out the window. I know some don't feel the sewn-in strap is as secure (and I did shorten mine because it was too long), but we don't use it, as we also have a strap that buckles into the actual seat belt, so she is super secure AND she can see out the windows well. The Snoozer seat form is made from foam....like your couch/sofa cushions...so it is definately softer (including the sides). I had the medium PetGear & so bought the medium Snoozer thinking they'd be the same, but the Snoozer is actually ALOT bigger and ZoE can stretch out and lay down in it just like its a bed. I might try using the Snoozer on my next trip across state to visit my kids at college and see how ZoE likes it on long trips on the boring freeway where she loses interest looking out the windows and just sleeps. I find the Pet Gear harder to buckle in, but believe how it buckles in makes it very secure, even though I don't enjoy the hassle of moving it from vehicle to vehicle, so I'll stay put in my Stang. I also like that the Pet Gear coordinates nicely with my car interior and isn't a cutesie looking seat. The Snoozer is very easy to buckle in and it would be no problem moving it between vehicles.

| It will stay in the same vehicle strapped in. Yes the Pet Gear looks more secure, but I was worried that it was so high up and the pillow area doesn't sit very low in it. I love the grey one, it would match my interior. The Snoozer cover can be removed too right?Snoozer looks more comfy. |

| I just got the solvit seat. I couldn't be more happier! I wanted to get the snoozer seat but it was a bit more than I can afford right now. I figured I couldn't beat $24 on amazon. I love the solvit. Sophia is about 7.5 pounds and she fits in it perfectly when she's sitting up. It's a tight squeeze when she tries to lay down, though, but she has been enjoying it so far!

| The are about the same depth and height. Yes, the Snoozer cover can be removed and washed...so can the Pet Gear and the pillow cover. I usually drape a blanket over the seat in the car for comfort and ease of cleaning, especially after trips to the park. I personally prefer the Pet Gear, but it is more of a pain to move to different vehicles, so as I said, it stays in my car all the time and it's the one I use on a regular basis. The Snoozer is just for when my kids are home from college and take ZoE to the park or when my parents pick her up and take her to their house if I'm working really late. I can tell that ZoE prefers the Pet Gear too. She doesn't like it when she tries to stand with her paws on the side of the Snoozer and the side moves, whereas she confident stands with her paws on the side of the Pet Gear and looks out the window. *please note as I mentioned prior...there is a size difference between the two. A medium Snoozer is ALOT bigger than a medium Pet Gear. Look at measurements so you don't end up paying shipping to send it back.

| We have the Snoozer Lookout in a size small, and love it. We've had it for well over a year, and it's still in great condition - the cover is removable and machine-washable. Plenty of space for him in the size small - he can sit up, lay down, move around - all while safely harnessed in. Easy to move from car to car, which is a big plus for us.

| I'm thinking of getting the medium Pet Gear because it's more secure than Snoozer and I like the look better. Looking on the internet I don't think they make a small. I'll check measurements. Do you all think the medium Pet Gear is too small overall? Charlie is 4.5 mnths and 4 lbs. Is the 15x18" the inside or outside measurement? Last edited by Charlie_Boy2011; 02-20-2012 at 04:47 PM. Reason: measurement ? |
