| Getting a dog into a carrier My mom is going to start taking Priscilla with her places during the day. My mom recently bought a carrier for her. Its plenty big enough for Priscilla. My mom has been trying to get Priscilla into it for a little while now. She'll throw a treat into the carrier, but Priscilla will stretch herself out so she won't have to go all the way in. My mom did get her completely into it once. Priscilla didn't whine or anything, and seemed to enjoy being carried around. Once she gets in it she doesn't have a problem with it. Its just getting her in it is the problem. Any suggestions! |

| We tried throwing a treat in to a crate one time to get my moms yorkie to go into it but he wouldn't because I think dogs know its kinda a trap. When I want Callie to get used to something and going into it I set it up and then leave it up for a few days and she ends up sleeping in it lol. I did that will a crate and a carrier.

| Leave the carrier out all the time. Play a game with her....throw the treat into the carrier and make sure it is at the back of the carrier so she has to go and get it. When she gets it praise her. We would make a party out of it. Keep doing it multiple times a day. Praise Praise Praise her....This is what I did with my other little one and he loved his bag. My new furbaby is still getting used to it, but she goes into it quite well. We just flew with her to Florida and we had no problem at all and she was in it for a long time. We left Nova Scotia, Canada at 6.30 am and only arrived in Key West at 4.00pm and she was excellent. The most important thing is make the carrier a fun place to be not a punishment. |

| The first few times I put Troy into his carrier he wasn't too thrilled about it. But after a while once he realized that going into the carrier meant going somewhere he started willingly jumping in.

| When Gracie sees the carrier she knows it means the groomer or the vet and she likes neither. If you stand the carrier up on it's end and lower your pet back feet first into the carrier it is a much easier matter. Once she is in she is fine. It seems to be thinking about it that stresses her out. I don't even let her see the carrier now because she does not like it. I just carry her into the room and lower her back feet first and she is in before she knows what happened. I just put her in the back seat and seat belt her in and we are off. The vet showed me this when we were trying to get a cat back into the carrier. |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I have a special toy set aside for Katie Scarlett when it's 'carrier time.' She adores the toy and knows if I pull it out not only does she get to play, but she gets to go somewhere. I do not use her carrier too often, but I try to use her carrier every now and then...even if it's only to tote her to the car to go in her car seat. I want her to get used to a carrier so I can get one of those purse carriers so she can go places like the flea market and outdoor stuff like that without being held in my arms all the time. I thought about a stroller, but my husband said 'no way.' LOL.

| I kept Rosie's carrier on the floor at all times. I also put in one of her toys. For the first few days she would go up to it and smell. Then she started sticking her head in it. And before I knew it she jumped in. And I told her what a good girl she was with lots of hugs! Now, I have no trouble at all getting her in.

| Don't worry about her getting in it ! Worry about taking her out once she understand and know that she will go on a little trip once in there. LOl !!! I leave my on the floor , and when I try to pick it up to clean she won't get out.... She naps in there some times. Enjoy !! she is very smart right now she thinks it's a trap.. When we play and she runs in her bag , I never pull her out or take her toy from her as long as she is in there. That is her safe house , I also do that with her bed.
