| 1st Haircut My puppy is 4 1/2 months old. I am wondering when I should take him for his first haircut, any suggestions? He has all his shots, he received his last ones 12/1. Is puppy hair different? I seem to sneezing alot and itchy eyes and this had not happened with other Yorkies. Thanks for any help... |

| I suppose puppy hair could be different to someone with allergies. I never noticed any difference, but I don't have allergies to dogs, either. You can take your yorkie for grooming anytime. Just know that your puppy doesn't have much hair and will probably come home with none unless you have an experienced yorkie groomer. You should be doing the nails regularly anyway. Getting them used to grooming at a young age is a good idea.

| I took Prissy to my groomer at around 9 weeks so she would get used to going..I take Yoshi monthly and I will take Prissy too..I bathed Prissy the other evening and just used an oatmeal shampoo. I can tell that she will need more than a monthly bathing. LOL I too am looking for a gentle shampoo that won't dry out her skin, her coat now is so silky and shiny. |
