| Females fighting~help! I have two female yorkies, Money (spayed 1yrs) PiPi (not fixed 1.7yrs), and they get along perfectly. In July, I adopted another female yorkie rescue, ManMan(spayed), and thing have been fine for the first two month, they sleep together, play together. The fights began around the beginning of Oct. two weeks prior to PiPi heat. It has progressively gone worse, with two now locking jaws on each other in fights. So far a few scratches, no puncture wounds yet. I noticed that PiPi starts all the fights, first by staring and stalking ManMan, then jumping on her back and nips her ears. The fights only occurs when I'm around. When ever ManMan is near me, Pi pi comes between us and growl at her. PiPi shakes and tenses whenever ManMan is near me. However, they both get along fine with Money. I was wondering if the aggression is because of the hormones and possibly false pregnancy and will spaying help? It breaks my heart seeing them like this.... |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! Sounds like Pipi is jealous and may be protecting you from Manman. A correction needs to be made before she attacks. You have listed some of her signals, as soon as you see one, stop Pipi from following through. You may need to put a leash on her to get total control of her until she learns that you will not put up with this kind of behavior from her. Also when she knows you can stop her, eventually the habit will get broken and she'll begin to act appropriately. It does take time and persistence on your part, but keep after her and you'll see acceptable results. Spaying may help, but you should be able to stop her attacks regardless. Good Luck!
