| She's a what?! Pita is not a Shorkie, she is not a YorkiePoo, she is not a Morkie....she's just a regular ole Yorkie! LOL, I cannot tell you how many times we have gotten asked what she is....and here I am thinking she looks like a cut 'n dry Yorkie girl. Yes, she is 8lbs and many say well, aren't they supposed to be tiny and I say well she's a big girl. Haha, I think it's sooo funny that people are just amazed she's a Yorkie, so weird |

| DUH... She is a very adorable Yorkie. 8 pounds ? Well, that is down right toy sized. Some people just don't know any better, or are just silly. At the dog park someone really said this about 3 1/2 pound Abba,: " It is cute, what is it ?" I reply, He is a Yorkie. She says, "Wow, I thought they all wore hair bows, I didn't know they came in boys too." I was so surprized. I couldn't help it I burst out laughing. She snorted,"Well I just asked, what is so funny ?" and walked away.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | LOL! I got a chuckle out of the 'I didn't know they came in boys, too' statement! I would've had to really contain myself from busting out laughing. I can always spot a yorkie when we are out and about. I can't wait to see if people will ask about our girl. My brother has already informed me that he is going to make fun of her. He's one of those big dog type of people. I've already told him he better watch out if he makes fun of or picks on my dog! He'll have to answer to a protective momma!! LOL

YT 1000 Club Member | Theresa, I almost fell off my chair laughing! The ignorance of some people. We were told that Romeo will grow to between 7 - 9 lbs; he's 15 lbs and quite a big boy by Yorkie standards. The vet sees no issues but suggested he lose 2 lbs. Other than exercise (which he gets a lot of) not sure how else to get him to lose weight as he does not eat much.

| Princess is 8lbs. & so "huge" & un-yorkie like according to some. I'm sorry, but I don't see people just swoop up their Boxer or Lab & carry them off like I do Princess, there must be some differentiation! Pita is a doll & looks like a yorkie to me. As for them not "coming in boys" I guess they all came from a petri dish?

| Pita is a beautiful Yorkie girl! Belle and I went to a Yorkie meet-up a few weekends ago and I can tell you that not one of the yorkies there looked like any of the others. They were all cute, and they all looked like Yorkies in their own way! Also - out of the 15 or so dogs there, MAYBE 3 of them were less than 7 lbs. I think that now, with all of the "designer dogs" out there, some people have no idea what a purebred Yorkie looks like anymore.

| Kaos is 4.5lbs and I get asked if he's a "teacup" like 100x a day. And when I explain no, he's just to standard. They then ask me if he's a "toy" yorkie. TBH...it drives me crazy. It probably shouldn't but it does.

| A lot of people ask what Callie is or if she is a yorkie and I say yep just a bigger one and thankfully I havent gotten any really bad or mean comments although I'm prepared for that I was at my dentist office and having anxiety the only thing I feel confident talking about is Callie and I was telling her about Callie and she said is she one of those little tiny ones and I said no shes 16 pounds and she said oh like she was shocked and said they come that big I want a tiny one under 3 pounds so I told her a brief history on the yorkie. I know Callie is not standard but I am very proud of her. Now when we take Callie out Sammy is normally with us too so more people ask if they are twins instead of there breed lol

| LOL, the looks my 16lb Yorkie gets is amazing. If they think 8lbs is big... well, they haven't met Jackson I think 8-10lbs is a perfect size actually! I usually get the "Is that a .... Yorkie?" question. Most are actually thrilled when they see him. I get a lot of compliments on his size and how they prefer it, so I've actually never had a negative experience. What I do find funny is how many people have asked me if he's a Silky Terrier, and I am amazed at the number of people who even KNOW what a Silky Terrier is!! I never knew until after getting Jackson.

| My groomer is insistent my Chachi is a silky because hes 15 lbs and hes alot bigger than my female. He is all yorkie just a big and slightly over weight one. Yorkies come in all sizes and its not uncommon for them to be larger its just that person has only seen the smaller ones so thats what their comment is based on

| she is a very cute yorkie!! One day I saw a guy with a really cute dog, and I looked and thought what breed is that? I asked. It was a yorkie.. about 15 lbs. I felt so bad that I asked. So I said, oh, now I see the yorkie, his coloring is like my lasha (tan) so I was thinking he was the same but I just didn't look close enough. I made a point of playing with the pup and complementing the owner on what a cute and sweet dog he was. It really was a cute dog!!

| I love all of your stories!!! I think it's also because she only 8 mos and her hair is still growing and it's a fluffy coat, not the long sleek and smooth coat of the show yorikies. No one has ever been mean or anything I just think it's soooo funny that they give me this look like 'are you sure it's a yorkie?' I just have to laugh, it's like asking if you really birth your human child....YES I am SURE! "didn't know they come in boys" ....wow they must have missed that birds n bees talk, LOOOOL!!! |

| I get that all the time about the pups sizes. Kimchi is 5.5 lbs and miso is 2.5 when I took them back to see the guy we bought them from (We are in Korea) He says "wow Kimchi sooooo big!!!" lol 5.5 lbs?!? Big? We get that a lot from Koreans, I guess they like there dogs REALLY small like Miso cause I feel like Kimchi is a tiny pup to!
