| 12 pounds? o_O I am looking to adopt a yorkie, but we need a purebred as we are allergic to other breeds. I found one in my area that I liked, but then I realized he was TWELVE pounds! Is that even possible, without him being mixed with another breed? |

| There are lots of larger purebred Yorkies. He looks all yorkie to me!

| I really hope you are right. I want to adopt a yorkie so badly, but allergies really hold us back from everything. When I found out he was 12 pounds I was heartbroken. I don't want him to be mixed with some sort of terrior that we're allergic to. |

| That makes me a little more hopeful. Do you think, judging by his pictures, that he looks full yorkie? |

| Yes it is possible. My Lizzie weighs between 11 1/2 --12 pounds.

| Do you think that his pictures look like a full yorkie? Or mixed with another terrier. I am very scared I would get him and be allergic. |

| Go visit him and see if you are bothered by him after you leave. It would be awful to adopt him and then give him up again. He's probably been through enough already. There are tons of bigger yorkies. They are sturdier and usually not as inclined to being sick as the tiny yorkies.

| My daughter has very bad allergies,so many years ago we got a wheaten terrier- always kept her out of the bedrooms, bathed frequently etc.. and we did quite well. We have had Ziva for two years and use all the same precautions but my daughter( now grown) finally admitted that Ziva really irritates her allergies much more than the other dog. Maybe because Ziva is constantly in her arms? |

| We foster yorkies and have had a lot of bigger ones. Great suggestion that was made...go see him and spend some time and make your decision than. Good luck. He is gorgeous.

| He is cute. Go look at Brit's Jackson on this video. He's about 16 pounds, if I remember correctly, and is a perfect size: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...mmer-days.html

| He looks like he might be more Australian Terrier to me -- maybe Aussie/Yorkie. They are all from the same "family" though (Aussies, Yorkies and Silky's). He's a cutie!
