| When to neuter and a long vacation. Hey! So as some of you know, we have 2 small pups, Kimchi, almost five pounds and 4.5 months old, and Miso 9 weeks old and less than 1.5 pounds. I was wondering when was your male yorkie neutered? We do not have much choice in the issue, being with the army and oversea's the told us you are on the wait list and it will be about a month and a half, so Kimchi will be neutered around 5.5 months old. They have so many problems with people "letting their pets go" before the move back the the US and they are not neutered, and other issues, so now its just required, and NO we have 0 say in the issue. And second, We were just informed that we may have to go back to the states for 5 weeks. We dont know when besides sometime before the end of the year. We have a pet sitter, but for some reason this has been really weighing heavy. Will my boys forget me? Will they be happy to come home? Will it be traumatizing for them? Its a friend that they know, and have been to her house before. They love new people, and they will be there together. I still just worry. any input, advice and experiences are much appreciated!

| !Q hey! i notice that your in seoul! I am too!!!! I waited for Coco to be 7 months to get her spayed. Because I didn't want to spay her too early. She just got spayed last week. As for neutering, Mickey was 9 months when he got neutered. And as for leaving ur dogs for 5 weeks they won't forget you they know who their mommy/daddy are... Will your dogs stay with the dog sitter? Or will the dog sitter drop by a few times a day? Because they are still kind of young (also depending on when you guys leave) I think maybe your dogs should stay with someone instead of someone dropping by. Anyways, I'm sure you have a vet but if you don't, Coco goes to Itaewon Animal Clinic and Dr. Lee's her vet. Coco absolutely loves him! When she is being examined by him, she doesn't even know she's at the vet :P

We are taking them to my friends house! She lives about an hour away over in Bundang so its to far for her to drive everyday, and I think they would get very lonely being in our home! Where in Seoul do you live? I am right down town next to Myeong Dong at Chungmuro station!

| Hey there! I visit Seoul at least once a year...my grandma lives right by the gangnam subway station butters was neutered at 6.5 months and he did just fine. The breeder recommended we get him fixed at 5.5 months but our vet told us to wait so that as many baby teeth could fall out on their own as possible. This turned out to be great advice and the vet still had to extract 3 teeth. Chances are you will need to have some baby teeth extracted and the dogs need to go under for this so it's best to do it while they're already under for the neutering. Hope that helps! |
