| Hair Clipper Question I'm trying to find a good clipper that won't break my bank account. Any suggestion/advice would be appreciated! I usually take him to the groomer but his regular groomer left and they said it'll take a while to replace him. But Magnus's hair was getting way too long so I cut it myself. Takes WAY too long with only scissor so I figured I'd invest in a clipper instead for those times I feel like doing it myself. |

| I tried a few (expensive) clippers especially for dog grooming after Valentino got a very unflattering cut at the groomer's about 5 years ago and have been clipping him myself ever since. But, with all those expensive clippers, I am most satisfied with the Conair clippers I found at K-mart. He has very thick hair and I find that the clippers work really well, especially if you remember to clean and oil them with each use. It is important to find one with a good, powerful motor too. That will also help. Good luck! Conair.com - Personal Grooming > Clippers > Premium > Model Hc200gb

| I've heard some horror stories about clipper burns. Have you had any issues? Also, how big/small are your babies if you don't mind me asking? Magnus is a big boy (12 lbs) but Zoey's about 3.5 lbs so I'm wondering if I need something else for the lil one. Thanks for the response, so many clippers out there... it's hard to chose. |

| Valentino (8 pounds) has a suuuuper thick, wooly coat that grows very quickly . We call him our "chia" pet becuase it grows so darn fast! I find that I do need to moniter the heat and usually give haircuts to him about every two weeks, focusing on different body parts, sounds silly, but all blends in really well and avoids the clipper burn you are talking about. Lolita (3.8) pounds has very fine, wispy hair and I do not use the clippers on her. I use a thinning shears and regular scissors. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
