| Will Cooper adjust? Hi looking for some insight, I got my first yorkie about eight years ago, I was hooked, a few months later I got my second yorkie. Fife my first yorkie was so kind and great the alpha dog, shaffer my second was the sweetest dog ever but looked to fife for security. When fife died last June shaffer was a mess, I knew I needed another dog, I rescued cooper two weeks after fife died, it was the best thing for both shaffer and myself, shaffer at six showed Cooper how to be a dog Cooper lived in a crate for three years, I was so proud of shaffer, shaffer became best buds with Cooper just like he was with fife only a few short weeks after we got him. My fife had a collapsed trachea, was sick on off for almost two years, shaffer also had a collapsed trachea that started right after Christmas, he had three major episodes and I needed to put him to sleep just yesterday. I'm heartbroken, Cooper seems confused, but okay. After fife died I knew I needed another dog quickly, this time, I'm so heartbroken I'm not sure another dog is right now but I worry shout Cooper. So far if I gout I leave him with someone so he isn't alone. Any thoughts or insight would be helpful Ty.. |

| If you saw my post "my dilemna", I struggled with my sweet Georgia passing about a month ago. She had 6 babies in March and I fell in love with the smallest girl. Right now, we have Chewy. I know how you are feeling. I was worried Chewy was going to be struggling, but he is doing better. He and I are going to get into an agility class as this should help him adjust and me as well. and that way, later when my husband and I decided to get another dog (which we will ), then I know we will be ready. I think my heart was hurting way too much to keep the smallest girl, which is why we are giving her to a good friend of ours (she lost one of her yorkies in Jan.) so I know she was in good hands. I'd say if you don't feel ready for another one, I would wait. If a few months down the road you want one, then do it. I don't know what your life situation is right now, all I know is that it is a hard thing to go through. I also sought out a grieving counselor to help me (still am). I am very sorry about your babies, I am here if you want to talk/pm.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of not one but two of your companions in such a short time. I have been there and I know exactly how you are feeling right now. In my opinion I would say Yes... get another dog for your sake and for Cooper! It may be difficult at first but out there some where is a dog in need of a family. It would do you and your Cooper a world of good. Not to mention how you could change the life of another rescue in need of a family and a home.

| I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I think your little man, and you need one another and will help heal each other. I think right now, maybe another dog wouldn't be the best until both of you are done grieving. Like the story above with Georgia, one of the baby girls are going to a good home (which I'm so happy to hear!) and I think giving that little recuperation times before jumping into a new dog would be best for you and the little one. Too much too soon may cause a little too much stress for you, your baby, and the new dog. You know what's best for you and your baby! And I hope all goes well. Keep us updated!
