| Idk I don't know either but I am going through the same process and it's driving me crazy. I can't wait until it's long enough to lay down. I wonder if there is something you can put on it to help it lay down in the meantime? |

No Longer a Member | Rizzo's hair generally grows painfully slow, but his face hair seemed to grow out pretty quick. His face hasn't been cut in...over 6 months, just a trim to his ears recently...just make sure once it's grown out you keep it out of their eyes Dont worry, it'll be long in no time. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I was happy with Petsilk Topknot Gel, but I left the lid off and it dried up, so I bought a product made for human hair, that's kind of like a glue. It really worked well, but when I shampooed him, I found it broke all his hair off, so I had to start all over. Some people have recommend Vaseline, and at least that wouldn't break the hair.

| This is what I use when I put up a Top Knot Stick'Um Up to hold the little pieces of Hair. You can also use Aussie Sprunch. After I bathe my dogs I use a tiny bit of Moroccan Gold Oil all over then I blow dry. Maybe they have a Silk coat which is a slow growing coat but stunning when it hits the floor. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think the easiest thing is just to put the band lower down, to catch those stray hairs.

| when my yorkie was a puppy and I was growing it out.....what I called devil horns or basically two little top knots like a maltese have worked amazing because the hair is so short...having dental bands,a rat tail comb and suture scissors helps out as well to cut the bands out so you don't break the hair removing it...it is best to fix their hair daily..it will grow before you know it though...the biggest issue I had with her as a puppy though was a bad groomer I took her too shaved the top of her nose it took me eons to get her hair to sit down and I used vaseline because it was soooo slick and only to prevent the hairs from poking in her eyes....if that wasn't the case i'd have tried some hair gel of some sort |

| I am trying to grow the eye hairs for 2nd time. Cooper's hair grows slow. The last time (almost 2 yrs ago) agroomer shaved around his nose and eyes. It looked nice for a week then YIKES!!!! That is when I said NO MORE GROOMER. and started cutting him myself. I was a hairdresser for a long time, so I have an idea what to do. But those dang eye hairs. Poor guy looks like he is gooing blindWhen he shakes his head he looks like a cute little monkey. His nic-name is Monkey Face. Pet silk top knot gel works good once I got the hang of using it. very different than human gel. but I have also used human "pomade" it is different than gel becaise it doesn't get stiff. I guess somw ppl call it textuizing gel. I think you could try that. |

| Thanks So Much ! I was looking for something like the topknot gel stuff. I have tried the aussie sprunch(well comething similar) and my poor babies hate the hair spray they go through sneezing fits when I put it on them, and I apply it to my hands first. I really would like to try vasiline I wonder if it would "gunk" up the hair pretty bad though

| I might be in for using vaseline. I would do it the day or two before bath day. that way if it gets greasey you could wash it out. If you have trouble getting it out thrn you can use dawn dish soap just for there. It has to be the original kind and put itn on your fingers and work it around. I know it is safe because that is what they use on all the animals from the oil spill. good luck let us know how it works |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | The trick is whatever you use, rub a tiny bit on your palm and only put a small amount on.

| I used Vaseline on Max when he was going through the awkward stages of hair growth. As Nancy indicated, use only a tiny dab and put it in your palm first. I also used PetSilk topknot gel. If I recall correctly, I was still trimming Max's "eyebrows" at about 5 months of age. By 8 months, he had a pretty good topknot, but I was still fighting the mustache, trying to keep it out of his eyes. Depends on how fast your dog's hair grows. Here is Max at a little over 5 months with hair sticking in front of his eyes, lol:
