YorkieTalk Newbie! | URGENT question.... hi!!! my name is christel and im from mexico! (so sorry if my grammar is alittle bad ) I have this 4 year old (11 once) yorkie who just had puppies 5 weeks ago..... theres a long story.... on october 14 I think we took my yorkie Maffi to this male yorkie's house. One day later the owner of the dog called us and said that Maffi was being a little agresive and scared of being at another house. So we went for her thinking nothing had happen. Around 30 days later I saw Maffi fat so we took her to the vet and it turned out she was pregnant. so after the 63 day that she was pregnant the pupies were born. 2 survive and 2 dieded....Since the babies were born they were born BROWN. When they were born they did look like yorkies only brown..... now they are 5 weeks old and they are getting big they weight around 2.8 onces. but they are still BROWN with very short hair! this brought me thinking that Maffi could have mate with another dog. I just want to know if the brown color is something rare but that happens or that is difinetly not a yorky |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome. I hope you mean your yorkie is 11 pounds not ounces. I would think that the father was not a yorkie. DO you know if that person had any other dogs? Can you post pictures of the babies so we can get an idea of what they could be.

| Your female weighs 11 ounces and the pups are 2.5 ounces at 5 weeks, is this correct information? Could you mean pounds? Brown is the least of your worries. |

| Hi and welcome to YT. My first litter was born 11/30/2010. I had two black and one brown. Come to find out his daddy was the same color when he was born. They are a spitting image of each other. I am lucky because his daddy is one beautiful yorkie. I have had quite a few offers on him but he is the pick of the litter. If you check my photo album out you can see him. Can you post pictures? |

It take about 2 years for the adult coat to grow in. As far as color... Standard colored pups are born black and tan (they look like little Dobermans). There have been brown colored Yorkies born they are called "Chocolate Yorkies". If there is a question about parentage of the pups you would need to do a DNA test on mom, pups and the dad to see if the male yorke is the actual father . | |

| No, the coat color is not acceptable, but do you know the lineage of your female and the male...there could be brown Yorkies in the line.. Weight sound normal. Posting a few pictures as they grow would be very helpful...best wishes |
