Yorkies are born with short hair that grows as the dog ages.
It take about 2 years for the adult coat to grow in.
As far as color... Standard colored pups are born black and tan
(they look like little Dobermans).
There have been brown colored Yorkies born they are called
"Chocolate Yorkies".
If there is a question about parentage of the pups you
would need to do a DNA test on mom, pups and the dad
to see if the male yorke is the actual father .
