| My Little Harlie Was Spayed Yesterday I know that most of you have been through this already but it was a first for me. Poor baby went in at 7:30 AM and I picked her up at 5:30 PM. When I got to the vets she was so wiped and wild eyed it broke my heart. I was thinking maybe they gave her too much or something. I got her home and wrapped her up and slept with her all night on the sofa, she rarely moved. Today she's so much better and just pooped a little while ago. She's almost back to normal and hard to keep her down. I hope she dosen't strain anything... Merry Christmas to you and yours! Don |

| I'm glad Harlie is back at home recuperating. My dog had that wild eye look after surgery from the Fentanol (spelling?) patch. Hope she feels better each day. |

I'm so glad your lil Harlie is doing well. They try to jump and run as though nothing has happened.

| Glad to hear she came through her surgery so well. It definately makes you nervous until you have them back at home! I think my biggest challenge is always the same as yours -- keeping them settled downa little for a few days. My Ben was such a baby for his neutering & dental. He cried just like a baby afterwards and it broke my heart. I was wiping at my own eyes during the worst of it. I called the vet back twice as I had never seen him so miserble! But by the next day he was much better and by the 3rd day -- good to go! Thank God! Hope you & yours have a very Merry Christmas too!

| Sounds like she's pulling through like a strong little girl It's really hard watching our little ones go through such an invasive surgery, but it is worth it in the end... I'm glad to hear she seems to be feeling well.

| I had Zach done last Saturday and he was kind of out of it for the 1st 24 hours. 2 days later he is the same crazy Zach. Running jumping and doing everything the vet said not to do. I keep checking his stitches to make sure they are all intact. I was a wreck when I took him in though. I couldn't even think straight. I was the same way when I took Zoe in to be spayed in July and also when I took my two bassets in. I suppose I will be the same wreck when I have to take Oliver in to be neutered. Since he is only 6 1/2 weeks old I have time to worry about it. |

| Everything seems back to normal. Here's a pic of my baby with my first baby holding her . Her personality seems more mellow now. Maybe she still has some pain or something? Keeping the meds going as per the doc . Last edited by dwells1959; 12-26-2010 at 09:04 PM. |
