| Is my yorkie weird??? My Oliver is about 95% potty trained now. He only has the occasional accident if I am little late coming home from work... it's like he knows when it's 5 o'clock and if I'm ten minutes late.... Anyway, when I let him outside to potty, he will go in the grass... but only if he has to potty... If he has to poop.... he will only do it on the deck or the carport... I understand when it is raining why he goes on the carport... it's covered, he doesn't have to get wet... but even when we go on walks, he poops on the street or sidewalk, never in the grass!!! We are still very close with his parents and siblings, and none of them do this... so I don't think it is a learned behavior... Has anyone else ever had a dog do this?? |

| It will probably pass. When mine was a puppy, she'd go up on the patio and leave hers.

| I can't really explain it either. Mine will pee - as if to say "look I'm doing it", but when it comes to pooping - he wants to hide - even though I catch him doing it in the right spot and praise and give treats - he still wants to hide. Haven't got a clue as to why. |

| Yeah my Brandi use to be the same way, she would only potty on the sidewalk, she has gotten better now she does it in the grass unless it's raining. She hates getting her paws wet. Last edited by yavenay; 09-30-2010 at 07:26 AM. |

| Jackson poops in the grass, but when we visit my dads house... he ALWAYS seems to poop on the cement around the pool. I don't understand it, lol. There's a whole yard full of grass but he chooses to go on the pavement.
