YT Addict | I think Hazel is an ANGRY puppy !?!?!? for about the past 3 days, my little sweet girl has turned into the devils spawn herself. idk what happened, but it was like a switch! shes biting like CRAZY, and it only seems to be ME shes biting. her teeth are actually gettin SHARP now, so this will be a problem! she has these HYPER ACTIVE fits where she goes BONKERS. runs, and flips, does all of these crazy things while growling loudly and looking evil! and i kiss her now on her neck or anywhere for that matter, she turns her head to try to bite me! i want my little angel back! |

| How old is she now? She may have been taken away from her mommy and siblings to young. They only learn "Bite inhibition" from them between 8-10weeks. If she is at an age where she might be coming into heat it could also change their personalities. |

| Not sure how old your baby is , but it sounds like she's teething . The running bonkers thing sounds like normal puppy (Mad Dogs) to me.Try throwing a ball or a toy for her to take it out on when she gets in those moods. |

| If I remember correctly, you got Hazel before 12 weeks of age. If I'm wrong I apologize & you can diregard my post. Like another poster mentioned, bite inhibition is learned from the mommy between 8-12 weeks. If your baby was taken before then, you will now have to teach her bite inhibition. I believe there is a sticky about it on here somewhere...

YT Addict | Hazel is 9 weeks. but she spends a good amount of time with her mother every day or every other day, but mostly everyday. and her litter mates are gone. i read something on here last night that i can pull up or pinch the skin on the back of her neck a little and tug it back and forth and her mother would do. or to lightly push her face as her mother would paw her if she caught her biting. i also read that i might try squirting her in the face with water. but i think thats a little mean! |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | She's behaving normally for a pup that was taken from it's mother far too early. If she was with her mom, she would be learning bite inhibition. It's now up to you to teach it, but physically punishing her is more likely to make it worse than better. You'll risk making her aggressive. Ladyjane started a good thread on bite inhibition: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tra...nhibition.html

| Aw bless her she sounds normal to me. Poppy goes a little hyper running around the living room jumping on her toys and growling and and barking at me. Its just to get my attention tho and i cant help but giggle. Poppy started to bite when i first got her, with her being only 5weeks old when i got her she had learnt nothing like this from her mother. I just told her ''NO'' in a stern voice and she stopped. Now all i get is lots of licks xxx

| Patience and Training She sounds like a Yorkie pup to me. I called my pup "Crazy Calleigh" for almost a year. She was into every thing and loved to bite as well. I managed to stop her from doing much biting after she was done teething. I'm sure your baby is just acting like a normal puppy. Calleigh would gets spirts of energy and run like a maniac in circles. She finally did calm down at about 1 1/2. She still gets the spirts of energy at times especially when she sees her friend who is another Yorkie. When she sees her, she is Crazy Calleigh all over again. I compare having a puppy to having a "hyperactive child". Hang in there, it will get better.
