Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Im scared my baby will forget me! I have had my Poppy since she was 6 weeks old, she is now 13 weeks old today and doing fantastic! I am going to Egypt on the 8th September and Poppy is going to stay with my boyfriend's parents who she is familiar with, and they have alot of experience with dogs and puppies. I feel totally comfertable leaving her with them, the only thing Im worried about is her forgetting me. I supose she has been with me for more then half of her entire life, and by the time we go away she will be nearly 16 weeks old.... But do you think she will forget who I am? Im worried that all the bonding we have done will go out the window... EDIT: I am going for 2 weeks.

| Merlin is 5 months now and I have him since he was 8 weeks. We went on vacation last week and I could not bring him so I left him with a fantastic dogsitter. I called a couple of times and she let him hear my voice and I could hear how excited he was. When I picked him up Merlin was overjoyed and for sure he did not forget me. I see you will be gone for 2 weeks, I only went for 1 week, but I wouldn't be worried. She knows the people she will stay with and you trust them. So enjoy your holidays and let her be on vacation as well...lol.

I had one of my dogs showing in the states for about 3months, when we went to pick him up, he leapt ontop of a high grooming table to get to me faster. You just wait when you get back from your trip she will be beside herself with joy to see you again.

No Longer a Member | Don't worry, she won't forget you, she'll be so busy doing puppy stuff she'll run and jump up on you when you get back like you've only been gone for a couple of hours Oh, and I think I read somewhere that dogs can remember scents for up to 6 months...could be longer...where did I read that...It was a very long Friday. Lol. Have a great time, trust me, Poppy will not forget you. |

| She'll probably spend the whole two weeks looking for you. So when you get back she'll just think she's found you Leave a tshirt or pyjamas in her bed so she has your scent. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | She won't forget you any more than you are going to forget about her during those 2 weeks. I guarantee you'll come back home and be greeted by wiggles and puppy kisses.

| I'm so glad to hear all this positive reinforcement, because we too will be leaving Miki, but only for 3 days. I was concerned too. She goes everywhere with us and this will be the first time she will be without either one of us for an extended period of time. The friend that will be watching her told me she will have her phone on at all times, and that we can call anytime. We will be out of town for my daughters wedding. I wanted to take her with but my daughter (who adores Miki), said no way Mom! She said "It's my day to be in the spot light, & Miki always gets all the attention, so she can't come!" LOL My husband already said that if we take a vacation this winter it has to be somewhere that we can take her with.....this coming from a man that didn't want a dog in our lives!!! Sometimes I think he spoils her worse than I do! I don't know who will be happier to see the other, her or us, when we get back. By the way your little Poppy is absolutely adorable!!!! I guess we will both have to remember the old saying.... absence makes the heart grow fonder... is that even possible? Have a wonderful time on your trip & I'm sure our furbabies will still love us when we come back to them! |

| She won't forget you. I had my first Yorkie for only 2 weeks when I had to go out of town for a week. I could tell she hadn't forgotten me. She looked a bit confused at first, but then I could see the twinkle return in her eye when she recognized me. We were both so happy! Go and have a gret time! Poppy will be fine!
