| The oldest..... I read that Joan Rivers Yorkie was 18 years old when it died, does anyone know what the oldest Yorkies age was when it died? Is it in the guiness world of records. Thanks |

| Sorry, I can't answer your question about the oldest yorkie, the oldest I've ever heard of was 18 years also. Maybe someone else will know. According to The Guinness Book of Pet Records the oldest dog was an Australian Cattle dog named Bluey. He lived to be 29 years old. One of the oldest cats, Ma, 34 years. Pretty amazing.

| A quick google search came up with anywhere between 9-15 years and 12-16 years. Our yorkie/chihuahua mix (rest his soul) lived to 16.5 yrs. While nearly blind with cataracts and the occasional seizure, he was spunky up until the last few days of his life. He is the reason I'm yorkie crazy. Looked and acted like a purebred. I'm nuts for yorkies!

| My chihihiua (she was mixed, though) lived to be 17. She had 9 lives. She got loose and ran away from home. She was gone for days. Then, came by a miracle came back home. Just appeared in the yard one morning. Pregnant. She got in a fight with a bigger dog and had to get a lot of stitches. She got hit by a car. She had a heart attack, but yet still lived another 6 months. We brought to the vet to be put to sleep because she started to get another heart attack. but died before the vet could do the procedure. My Lacey (my yorkie) turned 13 on January 11th. But, June 30th had to put her to sleep due to kidney failure. If her kidney had not started to fail, I am sure she would of lived a lot longer. She tried to hold on almost to the very end. I miss her so much and wish dogs could live as long as people. Saying goodbye to Lacey was the hardest thing I ever had to do. 13 years just is not long enough. |

| I am so sorry for your loss. I too wish dogs lived longer. Doesn't seem fair. |
