| Getting my Yorkie (puppy) in one week Hi everyone. I'm new to this place... I am getting a Yorkie in a week. Are there any specific supplies you need for a yorkie? I have the normal puppy stuff, crate, leash, harness, brush, ect. But is there anything else? How much do they pee in the house, when puppies? Do they pee when nervous? |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Any breed dog can have nervous/submissive peeing issues. I haven't heard yorkies to be more prone to this than others. As for how much they pee- you will be amazed at how much can come out of the little buggers! LOL. |

Welcome to YT...Make sure he stays with the Breeder until he is 12 weeks old. They need that time with their mothers. Toy breeds are different that any other breed. Here is a Link just for you. Again Welcome to YT..http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...w-parents.html | |

| Welcome to yt!! I just got my furbaby two months ago so I'm pretty new to yorkies too, although I've raised other dogs before. Like someone else already said, a routine is KEY. Because your new baby is so young he/she is unable to hold their pee for long periods of time. To get into a routine I would suggest taking the puppy outside to go to the bathroom every hour until they start to catch onto the idea. I personally don't use wee wee pads because I think it's somewhat confusing for the pup. One minute you're telling me to go potty on this piece of paper inside, then you're taking me outside to potty in the grass.. sounds confusing to a little baby! :P |
