| Tough Neuter Today Wookie got neutered today. The poor guy had two undescended testicles. One she got out really easily, but the other she had to go up to his stomach and cut through some muscles. So now his recovery time is 10-14 days. I picked him up at 6 and he is still groggy as heck at 8:30. He also got two of his retained puppy teeth pulled, his canine teeth. AAAAAND he got microchipped. I feel so bad for the poor guy. I have pain meds for him. My question is this...how the heck do I take him out to potty? Should I just wait for him to come around before even trying? His procedure was pretty invasive.

| You can't force him, but he will come around. Worst case scenerio, he has an accident on the floor, but he will bounce back in a few days. For a guy, even a simple neuter is not a pleasant experience. Is that genetic that both did not decend? |

| He can't even be out of his crate for 10 days. So I guess I'll just keep his crate lined with a potty pad. I asked the vet the same thing! She said it is most like congenital, but they can't say for sure. She says in her experience, it is more common in purebred dogs. It's hard to detect and breed out because a lot of breeders don't know what happens with their pups in terms of their neuter. I let my breeder know just in case.

| He peed so much last night finally. He's eating and drinking voraciously so that's a good sign. Now I'm just worried about him pooping. He hates the cone so much, he can barely fit in his crate with it on. Poor guy

You could try a baby onsie on him instead of the cone. Do you have an Xpen that you could use? I've heard of others even buying one used at a resale shop. That way he can move around a little more but still be confined.
