| Puppy mill busted I am glad to see that law enforcement is going after these criminals who treat dogs so poorly. This is the third one in this area in 3 months. I checked out their website and they breed yorkies. I will be contacting the sheriff to see if they are up for adoption at the shelter. Here is the story: Kennel Investigated After Reports Of Animal Deaths - Winston-Salem News Story - WXII The Triad So if anyone else in the area is looking to adopt, please look into these poor guys and gals. | So glad to see another Puppymill closed down I'm hoping they are all treated medically and placed into wonderful loving forever home. Do you have a link to the website that you referred to? I would like to take a look at it too.

I sure do. Sadly it looks really nice from the outside. Rush Kennel Home As far as their treatment it seems the Sheriffs office did a stand up job on trying to save what they rescued, and tried really hard to save the one that they bought undercover(unsuccessfully). They are paying for life saving surgeries on a few of the rescues. I don't know the details, but that is what I read. Last edited by Grendel; 04-08-2010 at 05:00 PM.

I would also like to note that people are innocent until proven guilty, but from what I have read this was a good call by the county.

There is a greyhound rescue here, and they do a really good job, but as for the rest of the breeds I don't know of any rescues.

It just gets worse. I went to ripoffreport.com (http://www.ripoffreport.com/Animal-A...-sol-zb62f.htm) and looked at the complaints, and there are tons, and on BBB too. The owner of the kennel was apparently on a wife swap reality show so here is the link: First off, I know because I was born here, the accents are not NC accents, so please no stereotypes about the south or NC. Second, why cant the USDA regulate this business like they do cattle or fowl. I am politically conservative, but I do believe that regulation is needed and should be enforced to end the suffering of animals. I believe that animals should not suffer no matter what their intended use is. There are humane ways to deal with animals that are used as food, and there is certainly no excuse to treat animals being raised as pets so horribly. Last edited by Grendel; 04-08-2010 at 07:30 PM.

One of the articles had bloggers responding. Sounds like guilford county needs to check this out, too. Maybe they'll have a chance to shut another one down. One blog read That's nothing to complain about. That's little compared to a kennel in Pleasent Garden on Edgemont st behind a house This man breeds the dogs in very nasty conditions then sells them. This place is not clean the dogs have knots in their fur and some are in real bad shape. Someone should rescue those poor dogs! So I sent anyone & everyone I could think of in that county an e-mail to please check on this. Don't know if they will respond. Last edited by pancakepat; 04-09-2010 at 12:05 AM.

Kind of makes you wonder where the dogs were when all the tv cameras were there? Did they just not notice 98 dogs? I'm glad the authorities are involved and I hope all of those dogs get the care they deserve.

The video was just outrageous! Let me say I might not have been a happy camper eating out of a trash can but mouth sure spoke volumes of the type of person that she is. Add to that the body language~ If you look at 9:09 you can see a bunch of building in the background~probably where all of the dogs were kept. Love how the "house dogs" were kept in luxury but sounds like the breeding stock lived in misery. Pretty amazing that an entire film crew was there for 2 weeks and didn't notice anything like ummmm 100 dogs living in an outbuilding? What a disguising piece of work. I love how she said that she spent $300 a week on her dogs and that her husband worked 80 hours a week to keep her in luxury. Wow!
