| Are Yorkyites "Stranger" than plain ol' dog owners? Greetings, I am new here, and have been browsing posts, (I can relate to many of them) and having never shared my life with a dog, before adopting/being adopted by Lilly, 4 years ago, I was not really prepared for how attached I would get.(of course, I did raise 2 "spoiled" womenchildren.) Anyway............are all dog people as devoted and in love with their dogkids? I look forward to sharing/reading all these great Yorkytales Terry |

| Do I think Yorkie owners in general are more "over the top"? Or do I think Yorkietalkers (members of this forum) are? YTers are definitely more "strange" than the average dog owner. Compare us to other yorkie owners? IDK These little ones are pretty darn special!!

| I think all dog owners love and care for their dogs, pretty much a given or they wouldn't have a dog. I just think that Yorkie and all little dog owners tend to maybe care a little more for the little fella and fellettes becase they are so small and tend to need more attention then bigger dogs. That is just my take on it.

| The only yorkie owners I have ever "known" have been on here and through other websites. I think yorkie owners are their own special breed. To be honest I have thougth some people (not naming names and pls do not take offense anyone) are just a tad more crazy than others over thier yorkies. I love Gypsy but I love some breeds just as much. I just love dogs in general. I spoil all of mine just as much as the other I think. I will shut up now before I am run off here.

| I don't think we're "strange" at all, most people I know that have furkids are just as crazy in love with them as I am with Winston. Strange, huh? Seriously, I think it's the dog lover in all of us that make us "special".

| We are a rare breed unto ourselves. A bit strange and compulsive, obsessive and a bit anal.

| This is my first dog, and I think the dog's size has a lot to do with it. There cute and fun and can be a pain in the butt, but I doubt other dog owners love their dogs any less. Yorkies do tend to get more awwwwwwws than most other dogs, and since they don't get big will get that for most of their lives. Their coats lend many owners to do some creative grooming, whether it be for actually showing the dog or just for fun. And I've noticed many Yorkie owners dress their dogs up, which I just can't get into at all. Being a guy, I will say that Ruger is one hell of a chick magnet, and I would tell most guys to get a grip on their masculinity and see what a little "foo foo" dog can do for them. I've never seen a cute girl say awwwww to a pit bull. |

| Well yes we are all strange.. well the ones on the yorkie fourms anyway.. I know my 6 are like the 6 children I never had..and my life is lived around my dogs so it seems to others.. Not to me.. I do know people that have yorkies that love them as much but do not get as carried away with the clothing and hair bows or barrettes beds etc. as we do.. I love these little one's and am on my complete second family.. my old family was 3 and now all gone and now have 6....like potatoe chips.. cannot just seem to have one of them. |
